The only food I will buy from Marks is there puff pastry mince pies. They are lovely, some years they do 3 for 2 so I will look out for that.

I have done a Christmas order for M&S collection.
Tbh I didn't look at the prices.

M0nica

Gold costs S4,000 an ounce. You will not get much gold in a £50 pie.😁

Just a little gold powder in the gravy.

Now, what's going in the Christmas pudding? Twenty pence seems miserly.

And on collection days the queues will be out of the door and round the block.
The first time I saw it I just couldn’t believe it, my D had to explain to me what was happening.
It was in the large M&S in Horsham in W Sussex where my D lives.

There are two pies priced £50 one is Wagyu beef, the other turkey, I think they serve 6?

I will probably order the beef one to take to family on Boxing Day.

It's not just a Festive Pie,
It's a curated ingredient, organically sourced December Statementgrin

What’s in the pie, gold nuggets?🤭
Sounds like I won’t be buying much there in the future.

I first I thought you said "A festive pig for 50 pounds!
Then I realised it was pie, flipping heck. I would love to know if it was worth it? Some fool will fork-out for it, In sure.

What about £165 for a beef (rib) joint or £105 for a turkey??? Yikes!!

Carenza123 Mon 13-Oct-25 16:29:13

A festive pie for £50???? Yes, taking the mickey.

M&S and Waitrose have become increasingly ridiculous with their Christmas food prices. I used to be OK with paying more because the quality was great but now it's taking the mickey. The quality has not kept up with the prices.

I use M & S Food Hall for bits that I cannot get from farm shop of local butchers.

Like all supermarkets and other employers they have had increases in utilities, employers NI, wages along with general increases of all food prices.

Any food in particular?
I dont normally buy much from there for Christmas.
I think I bought a Christmas cake from there last year, and didnt much like the price.

I went to a retail park yesterday and nipped to M&S just for bread. I looked at the Christmas food I don’t usually buy from there often. I honestly thought they are having a laugh at their customers expense.

Probably equivalent to Waitrose - other supermarkets are available 🙂
I only use them for the odd treat, my Christmas meat and veg will be bought locally.

Has anyone looked at the cost of M & S food (Christmas section)? I had to do a double take. The prices are horrendous. You'd need to take out a loan to pay for it !!
