Help wanted from Grans in Canada - where to buy Xmas gift online?

In years past we managed to order from Sears in Canada but they are long gone. A shame as they were one of the stores that accepted UK credit cards. I'm afraid Jeff Bezos gets our money now apart from when I send flowers. Loads of choice for sending flowers or plants and I've never had problems using a UK credit card.

You might want to check out Simons. It is a department store with locations across Canada and I would say it is very much like a John Lewis. They have lovely clothing and homewares on their website. Good that you aren’t considering Amazon. Most Canadians are boycotting American purchases and travel these days. Jeff doesn’t need our money.

See if you can find out the names of some department stores in their area. They will probably do food hampers. Alternatively, get some Canadian dollars and put them in the Christmas card and ask them to buy themselves a treat. But why not use Amazon.ca?

I have used Amazon.ca in the past and they don't seem to have much choice of the kinds of things I want to send as the price I want to pay. Plus I think Jeff Bezos has enough money. I suppose I'm looking for something like the Canadian equivalent of John Lewis, if there is such a thing.

Would flowers or a house plant be acceptable? My daughter and family live in Australia and I have had excellent service from a company called Direct to Florist. They deal directly with local florists with prompt, reliable results in my experience.

I have family in Canada. It can be difficult to shop online with Canadian shops as many won't accept UK bank cards [ and it is often the same the other way Canada -UK]

I send parcels once a year. I use online comparison sites for the best rates. Going surface mail is often cheaper. Even though they will tell you it can take around 8 weeks, it is often a lot less than that.
You do need to list all items. Also if you do post, don't wrap anything as there is a chance that it will be checked so any wrapping with get torn.

I know you don't want to use amazon ca, but that is often the easiest way.

Yes, M&S have an international service for gifts. We used it when our DS was in OZ.

There are no physical M&S stores in Canada but I think Canadians can order online for goods to be delivered there, so you might be able to order withM&S . At least I was told this about a year ago by a friend with relatives over there.
