…the date of our town centre church’s carol service - it’s this Sunday! It’s always lovely, so I’m looking forward to that. I hope they’ll be serving mulled wine, as usual…😋

So it’s an Advent Carol Service. Probably not quite the same as those held nearer to Christmas.

Our ‘Carols on the Green’ is also being held on Sunday. The children put their stars on the tree, we all sing Christmas carols, then move into the village hall for mulled wine and mince pies, more carols and a raffle, the proceeds of which go to local charities. ⭐️🍷🎄

Our local Parish Church (with parts dating back to 1200 A.D.) has it's candle-lit Carol Service in a couple of weeks. My daughter has decided to drive down and take me. She won't be able to partake of the Mulled Wine of course, but they provide mulled grape juice as well.

We used to go every Christmas as we lived five minutes walk away when the kids were young. Sadly, since they modernised the interior and replaced the pews with plastic chairs, the acoustics aren't good, but it is still a lovely service.
