I mentioned in another thread that it wouldn't be long before Easter eggs were on the shelves, I meant it as a joke, but oh no, they actually are :

Absolutely crazy. Surely we can get Christmas and its aftermath done and dusted before Easter eggs. Surely Valentines Day should come before Easter.

Today all the Christmas decorations in our Homesense store were reduced by 50% to make room for the new arrivals of Valentine goods.

I popped into my local dollar store 🇨🇦 3at 4pm. All Christmas stuff had been cleared away and the shelves filled with Valentine's day rubbish.💕

My local b&m is already clearing shelves and reducing the prices of Christmas items. I presume the next time I go in there will be Easter things on sale.

What ? Unbelievable. I know they sell hot cross buns all year round in Aldi but to sell Easter eggs is going a bit too far.

It is a post -Christmas ritual to spot the Cadbury's creme eggs on sale immediately after Boxing Day; can Spring be far behind? (Sadly, I no longer eat them.)

It’s time to put Christmas behind us - don’t forget that it started last August in most stores! 🙄 - alongside Hallowe’en and the Summer sales.🤣

It's rampant commercialism whether Christmas cards on sale in August,or Easter eggs on sale in December. I gnore it all and prefer to set my own timeable. If I miss out on some things because I am too late, so be it. For me and my family the celebration of Christmas and Easter is an opportunity to enjoy time with friends and family and a break from day to day life and routines. What goes on out in the hurley-Burley of the commercial world is of little interest.
