What a lovely grandma she is! Makes me feel a bit inadequate!

I won £300 of vouchers for the Waitrose cookery School in London. I spend 2 wonderful days at the school, the first to learn about making cheese in a course call Cutting the Curd and the 2nd I learnt about Greek cooking. These courses are suitable for all levels of cooks and on both there were people like me, nervous but we all enjoyed the day, cooked with a partner, ate some of our food, and went home better and braver cooks. I would recommend the courses to anyone and a number of the people had been given vouchers for the courses as Birthday and Christmas presents - so a good idea.

I received a copy of snow last week and I have had an e-mail today to say I have won one of the Galt Nursery trampolines from Facebook. Feeling very lucky and my grandson will love both.

I won the Miele Scout RX1 robot vacuum cleaner - truly amazing and I didn't even know I had entered ! Thank you so much.

At last I can say a proper thank you for the Historic Cream Tea for Two that I won way back in the Spring. Although both daughters were very willing volunteers to be my partner, I wanted to share the prize with DH. This had to be when both he and I were in the UK together for long enough to fit it in and we didn't manage that until this month.
Ever since I first read about the making of the ceramic, commemorative poppies at the Tower of London I had wanted to go and see them and in the end we decided to tie this in with the prize. The Tower does an excellent cream tea in its new Armouries Cafe, albeit self service. The prize covered our entrance, tour with one of the Yeoman Warders,seeing the Crown Jewels and as long as we wanted to wander round before going for our very welcome Tea.
We could have spent twice as long there and are definitely going back again.
The Poppies by the way are amazing, a very impressive and moving sight. And completely free.

My prize lead on to us spending two nights in London, walking miles, going on the London Eye and The Shard (fantastic!) and two theatre visits. DH is not as much in favour of me entering more Gransnet competitions as he once was.
Seriously, we had a marvellous time and we probably wouldn't have got ourselves organised if it hadn't been for Gransnet.

I'd like to say a proper thank you for the Forest Holiday for 4 that I won earlier in the year. I gave the prize to my son so that he could celebrate his 30th birthday in style in Sherwood Forest with his partner and my DGS1, and he chose to take along his sister, her husband and my DGS2. The children could go along for free as they are both under 2. They all had a fantastic time by all accounts - the luxury log cabin with hot tub was wonderful, the facilities all they could have hoped for, and even the weather was kind. The two little ones had a great time playing together and I have some excellent photos, my favourite being of two wide-eyed little boys meeting the Gruffalo in the forest! Thank you so much, Gransnet and Forest Holidays for making it possible.

My Owl and the Pussycat books arrived today - they are beautiful. I look forward to reading them to the GCs at Christmas.
