When choosing a cake recipe to wow your friends and family, do you pick a new one and simply pour your heart into it, or is it a case of batter the devil you know?

To celebrate the launch of the new, colourful and pun-tastic 'Bake My Day' range, Mason Cash has teamed up with Gransnet to give its lovely members the chance to win one of five complete sets of the Bake My Day range worth up to £130!

To take part, all you need to do is put your thinking cap on and post your baking puns on the thread here.
All entries will be judged by the team at Mason Cash, who will pick their five favourite baking puns.

The winners might feature on future additions to the range, so there if your creative wordsmithery is particularly good, it could end up in kitchens all over the world!

This competition has now closed. Thanks for all your entries. Our winners have now been chosen...please see the bottom of the thread to see who!!

I asked DBH last night if he had any ideas, and he said that if I sat here staring at a blank screen for too long waiting for inspiration, I would look rough puff in the morning with a pasty complexion! grin

A bit risque, but

Come here, ma petite chou-fleur, said the elderly roux as he admired her jugs* and pinched a dumpling.

*measuring jugs, of course!

A recipe for disaster

You're cool as a cucumber
and bean-pole thin
The apple of my eye, with
peaches and cream for skin.

I knew it was a half-baked idea.

Well, for goodness cake, this is getting a trifle out of hand. The heat is on now. Puns being cooked up every naan-asecond. There must be hundreds and thousands of you all wanting a slice of the action. There are one or two half-baked attempts and a bit of waffling, but most are grate. It proves that GNers can rise to any occasion. They broke the mould after they made us.

I’ll get my coat…. smile
