Receiving a letter from the Queen as part of my school project!

I have had lunch with the Queen and that is an experience, she is served first and as soon as she is finished the course the plates are cleared, you need to eat fast if you want to finish your meal.
I am very happy to have been around for the Queen's entire reign and also to have seen her crowned.

We saw Her Majesty The Queen (please note, GN) when she came to Plymouth for her Silver Jubilee.
Prince Philip stopped for a chat, but HM walked along the opposite side of the crowd!!
However, we did manage to get some nice photographs of her.

I've only seen Her Majesty the Queen on TV, but I have great respect for her.

I remember watching the queen being driven past when I was in Aldershot. I believe it must have been about 1967. I still have the booklet which we were all given at the time.

My mum was born in the same year as our Queen and I can't help thinking of my wonderful, late mum when I see how fit and well the Queen looks for her years. May she have many more.

I left work the beginning of July 77 on maternity leave with my 1st baby and my Mum persuaded me to go along with her to see the Queen on her Jubilee year tour when she visited Newcastle.

The Queen walked along the line of people and said to me "I hope you haven't stood here too long" I was enormous and the size of a battle ship, so she probably thought I was about to go into labour but the baby didn't arrive until the end of September.

But I did decorate my Mums front door for the street party and we won best front door.

I went up by train (first train ride and there was a corridor I was not allowed to run up and down!) to London to see the Queen (Princess Elizabeth at the time) open Parliament for the first time. She was deputising for her father. We stood on the Duke of York's steps and she drove passed down The Mall. She looked lovely! Absolute magic a memory even though I have seen her closer too since! And she smiled at little me too and she waved!!!

When I was around 8 my family walked down to a nearby village , as the Royal car was to pass through it . Alas I was so impatient I walked back along the road to a small bridge to look and see if the car was approaching . Unfortunately for me it WAS approaching the same bridge from the other side. As I squashed myself against the wall to avoid being flattened it flashed past and all I recall is a black blur .... Ofcourse the car slowed and the Queen waved regally to those sensible enough to line the village main street.

Pleeeeeeeez put it right.

Because she's worth it!

No, no, Cari, she is not Your Royal Highness, that is for princesses, she is a queen so she is Your Majesty!

When she came to Aberfan following the disaster and for once the press told the truth, she was upset and failed to keep her usual stiff upper lip, for a moment tears did well in her eyes.

I think she is doing very well for her age.

During the centenary celebrations of the Forth Rail Bridge, Her MAJESTY and Prince Philip visited our village school and then departed the village by train from our award winning station. I had quite a good glimpse of her from the station forecourt before she boarded the train to take her back over the bridge to Edinburgh. That's the one and only time I have seen her in the flesh. She was very smiley and was, I think, enjoying her day

My sister was visiting from South Africa and we had been out and about sightseeing in London, as you do. At one point we were in the vicinity of Wellington Arch, there weren't many people around and suddenly there was a flurry of activity with motorcycles accompanying an approaching car as we waited to cross. We stood back to let them pass, and as the car drove past right in front of us, we exclaimed simultaneously "It's the Queen!" She looked straight ahead but we had a good look at her. Kind of made the day really.

My parents took me, 13, to stay with a great aunt in London for the Coronation. As the great day promised to be rainy my father went alone into central London and returned very animated by the friendliness of the crowds to each other and having seen the Coronation procession. I had gone to a church hall and seen television for the first time, along with a lot of other people clustered around the screen. Satisfying at the time but I now wish we'd all gone to see the procession. Later in the week we walked along The Mall to see the decorations - and Her Majesty's car drove past!! I still cherish the black and white snap I took of her, she was wearing a close fitting white hat so her face could be seen well.
