I don't like any heavy work as I get backache so easily and I don't like anything that involves slugs! But overall quite happy with most things, I like pottering out there, it is a really relaxing thing to do!

cleaning out all the used plant pots at the end of the year, bit sad but always the next year to look forward to smile

handbar Thu 18-Aug-16 10:29:01

I do not enjoy weeding where you have to pull the offenders out and cannot simply use a hoe on them. I can only do light manual work due to health problems so sometimes have to resort to weedkiller which I am not happy using.

My DH loves cutting hedges with his electric hedge cutter he has a lovely time but because it is too heavy for me to use I have the wonderful???? Job of picking up the bits !

I think getting the weeds from between paving slabs or paviors is an awful job especially if you have an big drive or patio - looks great for a short while but then the weeds appear again

I hate weeding sad

Galen Thu 18-Aug-16 16:54:23

What's a weed?

liz1970 Thu 18-Aug-16 17:46:43

weeding is my worst job smile

Grannyknot Thu 18-Aug-16 17:49:58

Murdering snails.

freefan Thu 18-Aug-16 17:53:53

I hate raking up leaves sad Our garden is surrounded by a wood and the leaves are non stop, luckily grandchildren love raking them up for some hot chocolate and marshmallows smile

I dislike thinning the veg patch....I don't like to waste anything so leave them and end up with misshapen weird carrots, parsnips that haven't got room to grow, beetroot desperately trying to swell but with no room etc. When will I learn!!

Bellroyd Thu 18-Aug-16 19:34:23

I hate digging dandelions out of the lawn

Piggypoo Thu 18-Aug-16 19:35:39

Weeding the patio! It's never ending, no sooner do you finish it, you have the little blighters appearing again through the cracks! Also I hate having to control the various pests such as slugs! smile

Pumpkin2 Thu 18-Aug-16 19:47:06

I don't like weeding. I am never sure what is a weed and what a plant

cathyov Thu 18-Aug-16 20:14:48

Definitely weeding - wish everything else in my garden grew as well!

CF22586 Thu 18-Aug-16 20:36:02

i hate weeding!

Biskey Thu 18-Aug-16 20:45:48

Weeding wins this one every time. Even with a hoe I was finding it tough on my back, and using a kneeler earlier this year I did something to my toe and set off a bout of gout. Can't we train slugs to eat weeds? It's about time the little blighters did something useful.

nutunit Thu 18-Aug-16 21:05:14

At the moment, it is getting rid of ants making a nest in the cracks of my patio. Thought I had got rid of them, then back they came.

durhamjen Thu 18-Aug-16 21:09:13

The only weed I have is ground elder. I have to get rid of that otherwise it takes over. Not enough of it to be covered with carpet, but enough to annoy.
However, all the rest of the weeds are wild flowers and necessary for the bees.

kittylester Thu 18-Aug-16 21:15:14

Sweeping the porch! Aaaaagggghhh!

clarabella3 Thu 18-Aug-16 22:32:22

weeding the lawn

obi1kinobi Thu 18-Aug-16 22:39:23

The job I hate the most in the garden is sweeping up the leaves - there's always more on the ground when you've finished grin

Daphne01 Thu 18-Aug-16 22:39:34

Weeding the path, having to get down on my knees and crawl along pulling them up is really difficult

Marmight Thu 18-Aug-16 22:47:42

Clearing the clippings from the shrubs and bushes at the front of the house as the ground is covered in shingle and I land up with more shingle than clippings in the bin hmm
