It's that time of year again - and the launch of our Best reads for Christmas. Over £500 of fantastic books, fiction and non-fiction, great gift ideas for family and friends (and yourself - goes without saying)

Aaaaand - one very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page. To enter simply tell us what's on your Christmas wish list (it can be absolutely anything)

We will be picking a winner at random on 14 December - more details on the page

I am wishing that perhaps this year we shall be able to celebrate these Christmas festivities without illness leaving gaps at the table as last happened last year! Also praying for a peaceful Christmas world wide without any incidents/disasters.

My wish is not to put back all the weight I have lost over the past year by overindulging at Christmas! ;)

I would love a new coat but most of all I just want my children and Grandchildren to be happy and healthy

Last Christmas I spent 10 days having a tumour removed from my spine, which meant I completely missed out on all the festivities. So this year what I really wanting for Christmas is the day with all trimmings!! The turkey, the children excited about there presents, the naff telly, the cheese and wine, the games!! That's my perfect present this year xx

A pair of Dr Marten's Bonny Waxy boots

my brother is desperate to move house and has found a very nice house in an ideal location. The current owner wants to sell in the New Year but has yet to put in on the market. I wish that5 they can agree a price between them thereby saving both of themselves expense, time and perhaps disappointment.

A good book (or several) would always be top of my list. However my wish would be to have a happy day enjoying our first grandchilds first Christmas.

I'd like one of those grip things for opening tight jars although I now have the option of my son doing it for me when his dad's not around

annehood Sun 11-Dec-16 21:59:38

A lovely, snowy white Christmas Day would be perfect.

I'd just like a peaceful family Christmas with everyone healthy enough to enjoy it. Next year will be very different, but we will deal with that as it happens and just enjoy this time together.

A kindle, to have more room for reading as there is no room for too many more books

luckybean Sun 11-Dec-16 18:55:20

Top of my list is happiness after a sad year.

welshpolarbear Sun 11-Dec-16 17:17:53

I would love a bouquet of flowers from Bloom and Wild. If you haven't tried them, you should! Beautiful and long lasting.

Hannahpp Sun 11-Dec-16 16:53:58

Jacks10 Sun 11-Dec-16 15:14:44

Just hope that Christmas might bring the end to hostilities in Syria so that the children there will once more be able to smile and laugh again!

coxie Sun 11-Dec-16 14:47:29

I'd really like a house elf to give me a hand but failing that a good old fashioned family sing a long will hit the spot this year!

It's been a bit of a sh!tty year so it'd be nice to sing it out loud and proud and hope for a better year to come for everyone!

silversand12 Sun 11-Dec-16 12:09:21

Oh wow, what an amazing bundle! Book heaven smile

To have more energy is the number one thing on my Christmas wish list!

cookiemonster66 Sun 11-Dec-16 09:41:14

I've already got my wish.... a gorgeous new baby grandaughter!

Isobelw Sun 11-Dec-16 09:15:01

I would love my children to find happiness in their chosen careers

libra10 Sun 11-Dec-16 04:56:42

My husband has been asking what I want for Christmas and I'm really boring, haven't a clue!

Loving reading, I would opt for a book token as I love wandering round Waterstones and choosing something new to read. A magical place!

Also, I would love to hear some uplifting Christmas carols on TV. Where have they all gone?

hantspen Sat 10-Dec-16 22:46:07

I'd like a huge TV for Christmas but since that's not going to happen I'll settle for a new pair of glasses!
