It's that time of year again - and the launch of our Best reads for Christmas. Over £500 of fantastic books, fiction and non-fiction, great gift ideas for family and friends (and yourself - goes without saying)

Aaaaand - one very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page. To enter simply tell us what's on your Christmas wish list (it can be absolutely anything)

We will be picking a winner at random on 14 December - more details on the page

Hubby and I aren't buying presents for each other this year rather we'll take a trip in the Spring as our present to each other.

My wish for Christmas is for good health for all our family and friends, as we've had a few hiccups over the last year or so.

Just to be in the room when my small granddaughters come in and see all the parcels Father Christmas has left. I have a lot less money this year since I retired but have managed to find nice things they will like for little money. Just to be able to spend Christmas with them and both daughters is priceless.

Well, I don't actually have a Christmas list but assuming I did I would really like;

Some nice bubbly bath.
Some nice perfume (Hugo Boss "The Scent" would be perfect).
Some nice new pj's or a sexy nightie
A white, soft and fluffy dressing gown
Some new slippers (size 5 please)
and a LARGE bottle of Baileys

Oh and that nice big box of books would just finish my Christmas night off a treat. grin

I have told DH that I don't want any more "stuff" as I have everything I need. What I would love are days out, trips to the theatre or even tea and cake somewhere nice. We are both on a remarriage and he has been diagnosed with emphysema, so I want memories for when I no longer have him.

The best thing I could possibly get is my very poorly new grandson home with us for Christmas.

Pittcity Wed 16-Nov-16 16:25:07

Health and Happiness is at the top of my list. I'm sure most of us would agree.

I wish that I could turn the clock back to the time before my family was fractured by marital breakups and the GC could have both parents together for Christmas. I would be truly happy.

Judthepud2 Wed 16-Nov-16 16:32:20

Lots of moisturising products as I feel like I'm turning into a prune!!

Annie29 Wed 16-Nov-16 16:56:16

I wish Health and Happiness for my family and friends.I love to see the grandchildren so excited and full of wonder.Don't have a wish list for gifts I want, reading material would be great.

Charleygirl Wed 16-Nov-16 17:03:33

All I want is a new left total knee replacement. At present it will not be done because of other problems.

Tizliz Wed 16-Nov-16 17:14:55

A Wheeled leaf vacuum as I am really fed up with picking the darn things up. Which would give me more time to read all these books.

My wish is for my family to have a happy, healthy and stress free 2017. I would say that I wish for them to win the lottery, but as none of us do it, or at least only very rarely, I guess that would be a wasted wish smile

To be able to get into my posh frocks for the xmas cruise (vain hope)?

callgirl1 Wed 16-Nov-16 17:46:22

After losing my husband just a few weeks ago, I`d love, just for once, to have all our family together, under one roof, at Christmas.

Mamasasq Wed 16-Nov-16 18:32:39

To be told I'm going to be a granny for the first time!

mumofmadboys Wed 16-Nov-16 19:01:49

A cycle rack for the car! Any book would be great. I love reading novels

kittylester Wed 16-Nov-16 19:14:40

Loads of books! grin

Actually, a healthy and happy 2017 for all my family and especially my great nephew, who is currently on oxygen in hospital, would be great.

Having said that, I would like the same for mbody's poorly grandson. In fact happy things for all lovely gransnetters.

emmasnan Wed 16-Nov-16 19:19:49

For my family to all stay happy and well for the coming year.
As to a list; perfume, a good book and chocolate would be lovely.

NonnaW Wed 16-Nov-16 19:29:47

I would love for my 3 sons to find that someone special in their lives.

joannapiano Wed 16-Nov-16 19:40:27

Good health for my family and friends, firstly.
But it would be lovely if Santa brought me a full-sized electronic keyboard to replace the piano I gave away, as it was too big to fit in our little bungalow. I am currently playing on a tiny keyboard that DD2 won in a competition when she was 11.(She is now 41).

Alima Wed 16-Nov-16 19:51:30

I would like health and happiness for my family. For me, all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.

Jinky2 Wed 16-Nov-16 20:05:46

My Christmas wish is for all genuine homeless people to be given shelter and Christmas dinner on Christmas Day.roastchicken

grannypiper Wed 16-Nov-16 20:08:00

grannyactivist Wed 16-Nov-16 23:37:59

For the people I love who are experiencing traumatic times to find peace and find comfort in the true meaning of Christmas.
