The lovely long summer days, giving you more time to indulge in reading a good book or two!
Forgetting to wear sunscreen!

I love the freedom that the warmer days give me to go out for the day with my family but I hate it when it gets too hot to sleep at night

Jess9887 Sat 21-Jul-18 17:24:30

My favourite thing about summer is spending lots of time outside. I love being in the garden with the family.
The worst thing is how hot the dogs get. I have giant breeds with big coats. Even though we cut them short they struggle and we have to wait until after 9 to walk them and some days they don't get walked xx

I love being able to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine with friends and family.
I hate all the insects flying about and wasps that seem to think I make a good meal.

My favourite is the anticipation of long summer days, waking up to sunshine and a gentle breeze accompanied by sweet birdsong. Walks through poppy filled cornfields and watching butterflies flitting through the buddliea, dragon flies grazing the pond and hedgerow and bees hoovering up pollen on rainbowed flowers whilst I curl up on the hammock to enjoy my latest book.
The worst part of summer is the children going back to school, heralding the start of autumn. The slight nip in the air, the extra layer to keep warm. The drunken wasps looking for their next victim. Mosquitoes buzzing , ready to bite sneakily, but revealed by my allergic red , mountainous swellings! But the sadness at summer's irritations are redeemed by knowing late summer will put on it's beautiful final display of russet cloaked trees , the flight of summer birds, that will return...And the darker nights will enable me to snuggle up on my comfy sofa in front of a glorious flame filled fire with another good read. Life is good !

Loving Picnics in the park, hating having to work in the glorious weather

I love the sunshine but I don't like the headaches that come with the heat. It helps if I wear a hat.

zinnia Sat 21-Jul-18 19:44:13

I love eating fruit and veg from my garden but hate the pests that eat them too !

avery64 Sat 21-Jul-18 19:53:09

I love the feeling of freedom in summer where I don't have to don many layers of clothing to be warm. However, the downside to this is biting insects then find me easy pickings so I have to put up with the bites or cover up. Sprays etc don't seem to work for me!

bobble5 Sat 21-Jul-18 21:18:55

My favourite thing is getting the washing washed and dried the same day and my worst thing in the midges and clegs.

sandra63 Sat 21-Jul-18 21:48:39

I love the sunshine and being in the garden. I don't like being uncomfortably hot at night stopping me from sleeping.

jaizko Sat 21-Jul-18 21:57:18

Favourite is the long evenings. Least favourite is too much sunshine as it makes me ill.

becca119 Sun 22-Jul-18 00:07:56

The best thing about summer is the warmth and the worst thing is water shortage

stayanotherday Sun 22-Jul-18 00:13:34

Favourite - lots! Eating al fresco, mocktails while reading outside, light mornings and endless nights, simpler clothes, strawberries and cream, drying washing quicker and outside, beer gardens, going down the beach, I could go on!

Least favourite - wish the mossies would leave me in peace!

jennyravenclaw Sun 22-Jul-18 01:33:50

My favourite thing about summer is the kids being off school, meaning fun things and more relaxed bedtimes. My least favourite thing about summer is the heat/humidity

Bugsy10 Sun 22-Jul-18 07:58:17

My favourite thing about summer is attending all the lovely outdoor festivals and the least favourite thing is insects!! wasps and midges especially.

millymoo1971 Sun 22-Jul-18 08:06:00

Worst thing is how light it is when you go to bed. Favourite thing is being able to spend time at my caravan.

liane1987 Sun 22-Jul-18 08:42:34

My favourite is enjoying more time together as a family and my least favourite is the brighter nights mean getting the grandkids to sleep at night is even harder haha

kazzycomp12 Sun 22-Jul-18 08:48:49

Best thing about summer is having a family holiday, the worst thing is still having to go to work while my children are off school

pamelacook Sun 22-Jul-18 09:12:38

Favourite thing is the lovely warm weather meaning we can spend more time outside in the garden, eating outside AND I can get big things like pillows and duvets washed and dried - and I can't think of any worst thing!

joeyhutch78 Sun 22-Jul-18 09:15:32

My favourite thing is long lazy days at the beach and my least favourite thing is sticky restless nights where I can’t sleep.

rainbowbutterfly Sun 22-Jul-18 09:41:25

Best: Sunshine at last!

Worst: Too hot!

Ilovedragonflies Sun 22-Jul-18 09:43:04

My favourite thing about summer is when the schools finally break up (I work in one) and I finally have some time for me. I'll sit in the garden or take a walk around local lakes and broads and watch out for the most beautifully vivid blues and reds of the dragonflies as they skim across the water and dart across the skies. A quintessential part of being British.
I dislike not being able to sleep through the heat this year - it's disturbing next door's baby, too, so he cries throughout the night (and his parents tend to let him) - but it does mean that I can then do my next favourite thing, which is catch up on all the reading I haven't found time for during the school year... wink

The best thing about the summer is being able to sit outside with a cold drink and a good book and enjoy the fresh air and the scent of the flowers.
The worst thing about the summer is being bitten by the horseflies that seem to appear with the heat
