Why do you travel? What drives you to venture far from home and see sights you've never seen before?

Collette have spent the last 100 years taking people all over the world, and along the way they've learned that travel isn’t about the places you go. It’s about you and your reasons for going.

And everyone has different reasons. They can be big - a promise to a loved one, fulfilling a lifetime goal. But they can also be small - the blue water in Capri or the cuisine in France.

The reason doesn’t have to be happy for the trip to be important and fulfilling. In fact, the most powerful reasons probably won’t be. But they will be personal, deep, meaningful and maybe even surprising.

As the longest-running tour operator in North America, Collette has provided guided travel for 100 years. With trips to all seven continents, Collette’s guests fulfil their deepest travel aspirations in a variety of ways with travel styles that are diversified to suit every traveller’s personal style.

So, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, tell us - what's your reason for travel?

For many years as our children grew we could only afford camping holidays in Wales, but we have some wonderful happy family memories of those holidays. Today both our children are married to people from other countries, we are fortunate to be able to visit them in their homes and experience life in a way you would not see on holiday. To date we have spent time in Spain, UAE, Canada and the latest the beautiful area of New England, staying in Conneticut, USA.

I travel with my belly dance group in order to experience good company, another culture and have a chance to speak another language. I return home refreshed and invigorated with some lovely photos as memories.

I Travel for different reasons, sometimes just to get some warm sunshine after a few months of the Highland winter, other times to experience a different culture or city atmosphere.

I really don't enjoy the journey get quite travel sick, even in my greater years, but I do get pleasure form the destination. My last trip was to see where my great-great grandfather was born in the hills of Tuscany, it was very moving to feel you where stepping in your ancestors footsteps

I love to cruise, this gives me the chance to wake up in a different country everyday, which means I can experience different cultures and cuisines, I think I have earned these treats and really look forward to them.

I travel to go back to places where childhood memories were made, or a place where it's a special memory for my husband and I.

To experience different cultures and people, my holiday to New Zealand was the most amazing trip I have ever been on.

I travel for different reasons, to different places.
Beach "fly and flop" holidays, for relaxation.
City Breaks to discover new towns and cities.
Long haul to explore really different countries and cultures.

The world is full of such wonderful places, I would just love to see as many as I can. From the buzz of a big city like New York to the quiet, relaxing island of Herm or the uniqueness of beautiful Venice. But I also love coming back home after my travels!

I travel as I love to be away from home. As much as I love my home, I love the peace, the tranquility, no phone signal. Complete quiet to read a book, listening to waves, not having to be up for anyone or anything and spending quality time with the family xx

I travel to see as many countries as I can and experience all the different cultures that people in these countries have - I didn't travel when I was younger as my mum and dad couldn't afford to take us on foreign travel so I love to see how the people in other countries live. My husband and I like to try all the different dishes in these countries and there are many more countries that we would like to see in coming years health permitting for both of us.

Truthfully it's because my husband wants to, don't get me wrong I always enjoy myself but I'm a bit of a home bird and could give or take it but my husband wants to see the world it makes him happy and that's all I want is for him to be happy, I know he'd do the same for me x

We travel all the time for our son's hockey, that's Ice Hockey. Roller Hockey etc. It's tedious but we did have a brilliant trip to Corona in California for the Junior Hockey Olympics last year, I had a good trip to Lyon 2 months ago.
