Why do you travel? What drives you to venture far from home and see sights you've never seen before?

Collette have spent the last 100 years taking people all over the world, and along the way they've learned that travel isn’t about the places you go. It’s about you and your reasons for going.

And everyone has different reasons. They can be big - a promise to a loved one, fulfilling a lifetime goal. But they can also be small - the blue water in Capri or the cuisine in France.

The reason doesn’t have to be happy for the trip to be important and fulfilling. In fact, the most powerful reasons probably won’t be. But they will be personal, deep, meaningful and maybe even surprising.

As the longest-running tour operator in North America, Collette has provided guided travel for 100 years. With trips to all seven continents, Collette’s guests fulfil their deepest travel aspirations in a variety of ways with travel styles that are diversified to suit every traveller’s personal style.

So, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, tell us - what's your reason for travel?

I love to travel to explore countries unknown to me. I love to see the flora and fauna and enjoy local food. I also love seeing the different old types of buildings and unusual geographical features. I also like to see the locals smiling and happy, even if they have very little, materially. Unlike in this country too often! If you were to say hello to a stranger in London, they would think you were mad!!

we travel to see different things, so easy to stay where you are sometimes, but the world is so vast and amazing

I travel to see new places, meet new people and try new things. I love to try local food and drink in their place of origin and see wonderful sights

My husband and I take our 3 children on a holiday tour every year , we fly to our destination , pick up a car and explore for 2 weeks , our best times are when we are staying among locals , experiencing a different culture is exciting and educational .

I love to travel to see new things and experience different cultures. Now that I'm retired, I want to travel to tick places off my bucket-list (finances permitting!)

Having had breast cancer I feel an urgent need to see as many different places as possible while I can and to make lots of memories with my family

I travel because I still can! I love to meet new people and experience new cultures and cuisine. The alternative is to stay home and as I am claustrophobic, this is not an option!

The weather! Interesting new places, different cultures and way of life and because we can, now that we're both retired.

I travel because I can afford it, because seeing other cultures and places enables me to see the world very differently from those who do not.

I travel to taste new food, to meet people I would not otherwise meet, to see the sights I have seen in books and on the screen and to breathe the air in different parts of this wonderful world.

I travel for so many reasons. Primarily, to escape a busy and stressful life. It's a time for relaxation and to socialise without guilt. To experience a different culture, landscape and climate. To enjoy different food and cuisines. To meet new people. A time for a little indulgence!

I mainly travel to visit my son who has lived all over the world. This is great as I get to see him and experience other cultures and beautiful places.

I travel because I love to experience new and different countries, cultures and foods.
I love the excitement that travelling brings never knowing what is going to happen and who you are going to meet.
It's a refreshing contrast to the monotony of working and looking after everyone else apart from myself.

I travel to experience the "WOW" factor, something that will take my breath away.I have just returned from trekking mountain gorillas in their habitat within Bwindi forest in Uganda.I was a very hard climb in the rain forest but so rewarding,Seeing a family at such so close was a privilege I will remember for ever.
