Why do you travel? What drives you to venture far from home and see sights you've never seen before?

Collette have spent the last 100 years taking people all over the world, and along the way they've learned that travel isn’t about the places you go. It’s about you and your reasons for going.

And everyone has different reasons. They can be big - a promise to a loved one, fulfilling a lifetime goal. But they can also be small - the blue water in Capri or the cuisine in France.

The reason doesn’t have to be happy for the trip to be important and fulfilling. In fact, the most powerful reasons probably won’t be. But they will be personal, deep, meaningful and maybe even surprising.

As the longest-running tour operator in North America, Collette has provided guided travel for 100 years. With trips to all seven continents, Collette’s guests fulfil their deepest travel aspirations in a variety of ways with travel styles that are diversified to suit every traveller’s personal style.

So, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, tell us - what's your reason for travel?

To see and learn the history and culture of other countries. It's a wonderful way of learning and understanding others as well as being able to experience different aspects of our natural world we never see here in the UK.

I travel now I am semi-retired to see countries and cultures I have only seen on TV or read about, I want to start a travel blog for the over 60s to inspire people to travel, dispel myths about countries, try and inspire different methods of transport (ferries, trains (abroad and in the UK), air travel, cruise, and campervan hire). I would also love to try foods from from Asia (streetfoods, and new ingredients) , meet new cultures and try to learn a new language (well enough to got by). Life is too short, and there is a big world out there.

We travel because we would like to see as much of the world as we can . To experience the way people live in other countries . Their whole way of life . Some times bringing their way of doing things back and incorporating them into our way of life . Also love to visit the normal touristy .

I have lived and worked around the world, but still so much to see. I love the history, culture, people, wine and food. Time to relax on a beach, pool by the villa, with family or friends- what’s not to love

chloet282 Tue 11-Sept-18 09:35:46

I love travelling because I'm curious to see the incredible monuments left by ancient civilizations. My deepest desire to see what I learn at school and walk around when possible. I want to see more, I want to learn more.

MissusDave Tue 11-Sept-18 09:05:44

To see diverse scenery and explore new places as a family

happysouls Tue 11-Sept-18 08:57:43

I love to explore new places, see new countryside and beautiful places. I live a long way from the sea so the chance to see the sea is always great too! Peaceful walks in varied beautiful locations are good for the mind!

NicolaD Tue 11-Sept-18 08:56:33

I seem to have an in-built sponge, set at 'soaking up as many of the world's delights as possible'. I adore spoiling my senses with new sights, scents, sounds and just filling myself up to the brim with memories and tales.

Helsbells68 Tue 11-Sept-18 08:55:43

To escape our everyday lives smile

Venus Tue 11-Sept-18 08:50:54

I'm a people person. I'm not so much excited by the scenery as such but I am interested in the people who live and become part of it. People are different in every country and to see their culture and way of life broadens the mind. Eating the local food and the unfamiliar aromas that abound is something I always take back home with me. Nothing beats travelling to new destinations.
