Why do you travel? What drives you to venture far from home and see sights you've never seen before?

Collette have spent the last 100 years taking people all over the world, and along the way they've learned that travel isn’t about the places you go. It’s about you and your reasons for going.

And everyone has different reasons. They can be big - a promise to a loved one, fulfilling a lifetime goal. But they can also be small - the blue water in Capri or the cuisine in France.

The reason doesn’t have to be happy for the trip to be important and fulfilling. In fact, the most powerful reasons probably won’t be. But they will be personal, deep, meaningful and maybe even surprising.

As the longest-running tour operator in North America, Collette has provided guided travel for 100 years. With trips to all seven continents, Collette’s guests fulfil their deepest travel aspirations in a variety of ways with travel styles that are diversified to suit every traveller’s personal style.

So, for the chance to win a £300 voucher, tell us - what's your reason for travel?

I love to see new places, meet new people and explore the different ways of life. History is so fascinating and just about everywhere you go has history in some shape or form.

To meet new people, have new experiences, see beautiful and interesting places. Travelling gives you freedom not only from where you usually are, but who you are. You can be whoever you choose to be.

I like to travel to get away from the hustle and bustle of where I live. Even if it's in the UK, it's still lovely to get away for some peace and quiet and to recharge my batteries. Always great to meet new people too!

I have always loved travelling, ever since I was a child & my parents Emigrated to Australia when I was 11 years old, we had a 6 week cruise on the S.S.Strathnaver & visited Port Said,Aden,Colombo,Perth.Adelaide,Melbourne ,before disembarking in Sydney! All it cost my Parents at the time was £10 per head (£10 Poms) the children (3 of us ) had free passage. Needless to say, 5 years later ,we returned to the U.K. ,and although my parents paid more for our return journey we had an amazing time & visited , Auckland,Tahiti, before travelling through the Panama Canal & visiting islands in the Caribbean, then across the Atlantic home! What great adventures & after having traveled all the way around the World by the age of 16 ,I have never lost my joy of travelling!!

Travelling is exciting! It's always great to visit new places you planned to see and also stumble across unexpected gems. Travelling creates memories, broadens the mind and makes for a more rounded person.

I travel because I love ticking famous sights off my bucket list. Sometimes I'm overawed by them such as the great barrier reef, others I'm really disappointed, for example The Spanish Steps in Rome that were covered in graffiti.
