I liked Mr Fox from
The Fantastic Mr Fox
He was rather cunning and always being one step ahead of those 3 not very nice farmers. He always outfits them but he has to because he has the important duty/responsibility of looking after his family.
Looking at it now and he is teaching children d's.ily valu3s of caring and feeding his family.
Unfortunately in this world we do get families where a parent has just walked away but not with Mr Fox.
The funny stories of mischief and "cute cunningness " is teaching children. The moral. I do not think it would teach children to be sly just to think smart and be protective of lov3d ones.

SG99 Fri 14-Sept-18 11:03:24

Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because despite having very little he still made a success of himself because he's such a lovely, caring boy.

BFG is definitely one of the most super story books for children

shellee Fri 14-Sept-18 17:32:11

Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as he is such a lovely, kind and well mannered boy that deserves all that happens to him - karma for kids!

Nonnie Fri 14-Sept-18 17:51:05

BFG of course. 3 reasons

1 He is big
2 He is friendly
3 he is a ghost!

Nonnie Fri 14-Sept-18 17:53:04

Did I really say he was a ghost! That's what comes of getting on to Gn while cooking dinner. Of course not, he is a giant. Not so long since I read it really!

Obviously I need to win so I can refresh my memory and make it all stick

Loopey Fri 14-Sept-18 17:58:32

James and the Giant Peach as my eldest is called James

annieg123 Fri 14-Sept-18 18:32:32

Matilda has to be my favourite she has the worst parents ever but shes a tough kid with fab powers. my kids loved it when they were smaller

SHORTMAN Fri 14-Sept-18 20:58:54

Grandpa Joe - his relationship with Charley is wonderful

Lazigirl Fri 14-Sept-18 21:09:18

It's got to be Danny because it was him and his dad against the world - and they triumphed in the end. I think children can relate to Danny. Best bit was drugging the pheasants who fell asleep and fell out of their roosts in the trees.
