Definitely Mrs Twit - she and Mr Twit made me laugh so much and I can't wait to share this again with my younger grandchildren.

The grumpy Grandma in George’s Marvellous Medicine. The whole book really makes us laugh!

Charlie from Charlie and the chocolate factory, he taught me empathy, I loved how humble and innocent he was.

Morgie52 Thu 13-Sept-18 10:20:44

Matilda. My daughter loved this character when she was little and now her daughter is reading the book.

I loved George from George's Marvellous Medicine because he inspired a childhood of making secret potions using my parent's talc, bubble bath and all manner of things I could find in our house!

Willy Wonka was my favourite for his crazy inventions.

skerts Thu 13-Sept-18 12:21:58

Mr. Poppy from Esio Trot. He's such a kind and gentle soul. He's very shy too and loves his neighbour Mrs Silver. I won't spoil the story-line, but it's impossible not to love this character when you read how he tries to woo his love.

Love the BFG. It’s so good to read aloud especially his own language. The children love him.

Willy wonka, I love chocolate. ?

bookmark58 Thu 13-Sept-18 15:05:23

It would have to be Willy Wonka because of his crazy contraptions.

juliedee Thu 13-Sept-18 15:46:56

Willy Wonka, nutty but loyal

CAllred1 Thu 13-Sept-18 15:48:07

Danny from Danny Champion of the World. He’s such an endearing character. Vulnerable and brave!

Carz Thu 13-Sept-18 16:13:36

My favourite is Charlie from Charlie and the chocolate factory. He was kind and caring . Plus he had nothing and look what he ended up with a chocolate factory. We can only dream of that

live7 Thu 13-Sept-18 16:55:02

Matilda! Such an inspirational character (Though I have to admit I love Ms Trunchball too!)

Miriam Thu 13-Sept-18 17:09:01

It has to be the BFG. He is lovely in the book and even better in the film. A real gentle giant.

beckyinman Thu 13-Sept-18 19:02:15

Fantastic Mr Fox had such a wonderful sense of anarchy

Nanalou Thu 13-Sept-18 19:40:03

Charlie, I'd like all my grandchildren to grow up with his lovely disposition.

jenpax Thu 13-Sept-18 20:10:52

Matilda without doubt. Her character is a proper celebration of the gift of being both smart and cool?
