To hear the whispered purring of breeze through the trees, with my eyes half closed.

I get lost in a good book or listen to some guided meditations.

Unusually I like to watch a few things on YouTube. An excellent way to relax is listening to stories or Solfeggio on my headphones. Eyes closed...aaahh....

Playing the piano(badly) always relaxes me or making a few more birthday cards for a dog rescue that I support.

I love to sit by the ocean and listen to the waves. Unfortunately I live inland and mainly have to make do with the sounds of waves played by my phone. It still works for me though.

I like to read books on my kindle

Granny23 Fri 05-Oct-18 21:35:45

I wish I could enjoy a long soak in the bath but am afraid that the difficulty I have getting in and out cancels out the relaxation element. When things get too fraught due to DH's illness, I allow myself a ten minute break in the garden (or the back porch if rainy), with a cigarette and a cup of coffee. It was my chill option when I had a non sleeping baby - used to pop her in the cot or playpen, take my break and return, cool, calm and able to cope.

A bubble bath and glass of wine, followed by a quiet evening with one of my favourite tv programmes, this time of year The Bake Off
