The best thing about being a grandparent is I get to play with my granddaughter and make her smile.

My 18 month old granddaughter's smile when she sees me and looking up with her arms outstretched for me to pick her up - just can't resist scooping her up - the best feeling in the world!

Seeing their excited faces when I arrive. Knowing they have a world of hopes, dreams & fun ahead of them.

The pleasure of seeing the children reach milestones and enjoy their lives.

The joy and excitement when we do something for the first time.

I just love being a Grandma and love that all my children like to come and visit and talk to me about their lives, I have 9 grandchildren aged from 7 to 22 and see them all regularly. The younger ones like to tell me and show me what they have been doing and ask me for help and show them things and the older ones do the same but also ask for advice so I love that they all think I am special to them.

Seeing the traits of my daughters in their own children - both good and bad!

With 6 grandchildren there are so many joys! From cuddles with a three year old granddaughter, chasing six year old twin grandsons, to my nanna and Ruby days where we go for lunch, shopping, cinema etc. Very proud that at 14 she still chooses to spend time with me, and actually enjoys it!

I have 4 grandchildren the eldest is 4, I love the way their little faces light up when they see you, it melts my heart.

Its all just pure joy but the times my Grandson, Sonny, falls asleep on my chest, are priceless. The trust he has in me makes me so proud :-)

Its all wonderful being a granparent but i really love reading them bedtime stories. x x

Being able hand them back after you’ve enjoyed their company all afternoon.

With 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren (and a 3rd on the way!!) it's difficult to chose but probably the best is from my teenage grandson who reckons that "your roast potatoes are the best Nan"

Love it that as soon as he walks in the door grabs a book and climbs on my knee for cuddles and stories.

They are all so fascinating in their own very different ways.
