If you're after ideas for what to read this summer, look no further than our round-up of the best summer reads for 2019.

One very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page - worth over £600.

To enter, simply tell us your favourite female character from a book (old or new and from any genre).

A winner will be drawn at random at midday on Monday 15 July. Usual terms and conditions apply. Note that because of the size and weight of the prize box, we are only able to deliver to mainland UK addresses.

I can't choose... probably an obscure book but my recent favourite would be Sadie from the book called Sadie by Courtney Summers. It's a painful book!

Mine was always Lucy in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe - who believed in magic enough to discover the land of Narnia, stands firm while being mimicked by her siblings and is eventually & rightfully crowned Queen

My character is a child and adult .because the book keeps going back to her childhood.
She is called Framboise from the book FIVE QUARTERS OF THE ORANGE - Joanna Harris

I read it many years ago but her character left a big impression on me therefore I never forgot her.
It describes thier childhood growing up in occupied France. Then it time hops to when she is old . Her reflections of her childhood are amazing x
