Mitchypop Tue 24-Sept-19 07:43:37

My favourite fairytale was Cinderella. I think the Disney cartoon had a lot to do with that

I loved 'The little matchgirl' even although it is a sad story. Looking back now it seems a strange story to want to read over and over again.

Hansel and Gretel. The gingerbread house in the woods was just fascinating to me - I wanted to eat it!

Froglady Mon 23-Sept-19 20:13:24

The Three Little Pigs, because of the sound effects my Mum used to tell the story!

I loved Hansel and Gretel. I loved good triumped over the bad witch.

Mine was definitely Cinderella who remained lovely to the core throughout some terrible times and for whom life eventually turned around and came good in the greatest of ways - true love. Also, I am a firm believer that a beautiful pair of shoes is the answer to many things!

Supernan Mon 23-Sept-19 18:19:28

It has to be Peter Pan. I was taken to see it every Christmas. Magical in the theatre. As a child the flying is real. I can still enjoy it. Love Nana the dog. Happy memories.

HistoryGirl Mon 23-Sept-19 16:40:55

Rapunzel was one of my favourites as a child. I loved her long blond hair (mine was short and brown) and the idea of being rescued by a handsome prince. Probably not very PC these days!

chris8888 Mon 23-Sept-19 15:57:56

I loved The Borrowers, I used to hope I would see them one night borrowing something from our house.

saharapop Mon 23-Sept-19 15:50:38

The Elves and The Shoemaker. I still love it now.

susie14 Mon 23-Sept-19 15:00:29

Has to be Cinderella for me.

valleysusan Mon 23-Sept-19 12:44:20

Mmmmm! hard to choose a favourite as I always loved listening to and reading fairytales but if I have to choose one, Sleeping Beauty.

TONKATOL Mon 23-Sept-19 12:43:43

Snow White and The Seven Dwarves - I was fascinated by the dwarves and terrified of the wicked step-mother.

shaddai88 Mon 23-Sept-19 10:44:14

Hansel and Gretel because a house made of sweets was my dream! I would have loved one when I was a kid.

Cinderella. I loved the dresses and the glamour of the ball. And of course, I loved the handsome prince.

benhamslc Mon 23-Sept-19 08:54:46

Snow White and the seven dwarfs was my favourite I loved the beautiful Snow White and the dwarfs were so wonderfully funny and worked so hard looking after her. A delightful tale that I loved been read and saw at the cinema, a film to enjoy be frightened off, cry at and laugh a lot.

I loved Cinderella, her kindness, the romantic story and all about the little glass shoe.

Tessc Sun 22-Sept-19 21:45:09

Goldilocks and the three bears- I loved hearing the different voices of mummy, daddy and baby bear, the repetition, that it wasn't too frightening and of course it all ended happily ever after!

Lorraine2599 Sun 22-Sept-19 20:24:51

I loved Goldilocks and the three bears, that got me wanting to eat porridge! saying to my Mum ahh that is just right. You always knew what was coming next when Goldilocks tried the porridge, the chairs and the beds. In the end proclaiming things were "Just right" Then the anticipation of those 3 bears coming home to find Goldilocks in their home. I always wanted to know what happened to her when she ran out of the house. My Mum made up different endings each time which was fun. This fairy tale was carried on the same way by me to my daughter who is now 27.
