Goldilocks and the 3 bears, I could relate to the naughty goldilocks as my older brother will verify!

Jack and the Beanstalk......I always and probably till today believe there's a giant creeper on which we could climb and reach up to the skies. It kept my imagination working throughout my childhood.

Hansel and Gretel - I was shocked by the poverty but admired the courage of the siblings.

barbaraellen Mon 16-Sept-19 23:52:20

bumblebee Mon 16-Sept-19 19:51:50

'Jack & The Beanstalk' and 'Billy Goat Gruff'- reading or hearing the way the respective main characters cleverly fool the giant / troll was always so satisfying.

cambridgemumof4 Mon 16-Sept-19 19:37:22

3 Billy Goats Gruff - clomp, clomp, clomp. Not really sure why.....the troll used to give me nightmares....

silverlining48 Mon 16-Sept-19 19:25:07

The Little Match Girl made me cry then and now. When I read it to my Grandchildren I wasn’t expecting it to affect me and I ended up crying, and they cried with me. That wasn’t the intention of course but it’s so sad.

I also liked the Ugly Duckling, and the song by Danny Kaye and Snow White.

Charleygirl5 Mon 16-Sept-19 19:02:49

I think because I have always been a lover of animals, Bambi hit a spot with me.

I did enjoy Cinderella also, especially when she was the belle of the ball.

chorkie Mon 16-Sept-19 18:34:10

The Ugly Duckling. Such a beautiful little tale.

sc00ter Mon 16-Sept-19 18:27:46

The Three Little Pigs.
I loved this story. My mum always did different voices for all the different characters and we would both do the huffing and puffing the houses down.....Later I did exactly the same with my own kids and it became my sons favourite too.

giddyypixie Mon 16-Sept-19 17:36:23

I used to love a book called Bears in the Night...I would read it over and over and over again! I just never tired of it!

Eloethan Mon 16-Sept-19 15:56:52

Beauty and the Beast. Beauty embodies everything that a human being might aspire to. She puts the wellbeing of others before her own, she can be trusted to keep a promise, and her compassion allows her to eventually see beyond the forbidding exterior of the beast and see other qualities that are more important than beauty.

welshchrissy Mon 16-Sept-19 15:40:03

It has to be Cinderella. I had a big sister who was not ugly but I thought she was bossy , to win something she wanted especially a handsome prince was my dream at the time. Just to prove the underdog ie little sister can win sometimes

mrscake1 Mon 16-Sept-19 15:24:04

Billy goats gruff. I loved them trip trapping over the bridge and them winning in the end.

ToGreyOrNotToGrey Mon 16-Sept-19 15:21:10

Bambi.... Because those eyes were so beautiful

shahedc Mon 16-Sept-19 15:17:31

Hansel and Gretel always gripped my attention as a child

MamaCaz Mon 16-Sept-19 14:34:24

Mine was The Three Little Pigs.
I loved the way the wolf got his comeuppance.

gillyknits Mon 16-Sept-19 14:28:10

The Water Babies. I loved Tom the little chimney sweep. I think I always tried to live by the advice of Mrs. Doasyouwouldbedoneby. In fact I I actually used those words to my children. They still remember her name.
A lovely story with a very moral theme.
