I loved Cinderella because she overcame the terrible treatment of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. It has such a happy ending. We all love happy ending don't we?

It has to be Beauty and the Beast. I felt to unhappy about the treatment of the Beast but cried buckets when Beauty fell in love with him and released him from the spell.

O so many I read and cherished as a child. My favourite has to be The Ugly Duckling, so sad but then so beautiful. It is only as an adult you truly appreciate the moral in the tale. Inner beauty is far more important than superficial beauty. Never judge people on their appearance. Learn to love yourself. smile

Jack & The Beanstalk

Being a tomboy as a child, Jack's adventures were so exciting, I felt for poor Jack who was very poor, who disobeyed his mother, was sent to bed with no dinner, fought his fear to climb so high, was so brave to fight the giant, ending up the hero by giving his mother the golden egg and living happily ever after. Great fairy tale for children.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 08-Oct-19 21:37:52

Rapunzel, I loved the idea of her growing her hair so long, the prince could climb up it!

suziebird Tue 08-Oct-19 20:55:15

sharkgirl Tue 08-Oct-19 20:10:09

jojangles5 Tue 08-Oct-19 19:39:29

I always loved Rapunsel, I had long hair too. I loved that you could let down her hair to the bottom of a tall tunnel

sheridarby Tue 08-Oct-19 19:32:44

Jack and the Beanstalk. I was fascinated by a whole world at the top of a plant

suewilly Tue 08-Oct-19 19:16:39

my favourite was Jack and the beanstalk. I was always getting into trouble for daydreaming and forgetting what I'd been asked to do, so I sympathised with Jack who was sent to market to sell the cow but got waylaid by the bean seller and got into trouble for buying beans instead.
I liked the idea that doing something wrong could work out for the best in the end.

Kazzaw31 Tue 08-Oct-19 19:01:14

Sleeping Beauty everyone wants a prince in their life

laurensam Tue 08-Oct-19 18:22:26

Billy Goat Gruff, we would hide under the bed clothes while our dad used a big load voice as the troll, but still loved it

Mandie731 Tue 08-Oct-19 18:04:10

It has to be the ugly duckling, as it gave hope to those that felt alienated and miserable that someday we would also turn into a beautiful swan

brightonbelle12 Tue 08-Oct-19 15:46:55

It has to be the Ugly Duckling for me - inspirational {smile}
