The Three Little Pigs was always great fun and you could join in with the repeated text.

goldie025 Mon 07-Oct-19 17:29:19

My favourite was always Hansel and Gretel, it used to scare me but I liked the excuse to scream. Think it started my love of scary films.

The Little Mermaid was always my favourite. I just loved the thought of mermaids living in the sea.

Healthcrazy13 Mon 07-Oct-19 15:59:11

Pinocchio, lessons to be learned from this one!

EJM1 Mon 07-Oct-19 15:15:53

The Three Little Pigs - they were so brave and inventive. I'm always a sucker for the underdog (or is it underpig?).

Sofa Mon 07-Oct-19 14:50:21

Cinderella. I was a very plain child and very unhappy. The idea of becoming Cinderella was my idea of heaven!

Shalene777 Mon 07-Oct-19 14:36:13

The Little Match Girl

Luckygirl Mon 07-Oct-19 14:16:04

Without a doubt the Princess and Curdie - is it a fairytale. No matter I loved it!

nadiajosephine Mon 07-Oct-19 14:14:19

I always loved The TIn Soldier and the Nutcracker. My mum used to read me Hans Christian Anderson stories all the time and they bring back such happy memories!

mumu54 Mon 07-Oct-19 12:55:26

Rumpelstiltskin was the tale that caught my imagination the most, probably due to the very striking illustrations in the edition I had.

eekie0555 Mon 07-Oct-19 12:32:23

Really loved Snow White and the seven dwarfs cos my big brother was terrified when the witch is shown in a dungeon with a dead skeleton reaching through the bars.

goblin Mon 07-Oct-19 12:22:33

Peter Pan - because I always imagined it would be wonderful to fly and to have adventures on exotic islands.

jessdrnd Mon 07-Oct-19 11:54:41

Hansel and Gretel because I love the idea of a house made out of gingerbread and sweets

Aggers81 Mon 07-Oct-19 07:47:06

Cinder Ella for me. My kids still watch the original, it's iconic. Like the mice too, Jacque and Gus and the bibbiddy bobbiddy doo song.

MrsT Sun 06-Oct-19 21:50:15

Three billy goats gruff because my Daddy would tell the story complete with sound effects

marymod Sun 06-Oct-19 21:48:08

The Ugly Duckling because it gave me hope - I had stringy hair, national health specs and buck teeth when I was little and yearned to be pretty.

mrspale Sun 06-Oct-19 21:27:58

Little Red cap by the Brothers Grimm.
I like all the Grimm brothers work, some were terrifying, but all were brilliant

KeiraArchie Sun 06-Oct-19 20:57:54

Peter Pan because it is pure escapism and I used to look at each night before bed to see if I could see Tinkerbell or Peter Pan - now read it to my grandaughter who also loves it even more so since seeing the pantomime last year.

ljyeomans Sun 06-Oct-19 20:40:13

Snow White, it was so romantic, your hero waking you up with a kiss

Nicbak Sun 06-Oct-19 15:58:15

Jack and the beanstalk although I used to cry every time they sold the cow ???

katybrown1 Sun 06-Oct-19 15:54:25

Jack & the beanstalk. I was brilliant at climbing trees as a child and truly believed that if I climbed a tree high enough; I could get that pot of gold. I believed it for years.

minilynn3 Sun 06-Oct-19 15:53:06

I loved Snow White and the seven dwarves because she was so pretty and I liked te idea of her cottage in the woods and looking after the dwarves!

Ktferdy Sun 06-Oct-19 15:45:51

My favourite was Snow White although it was through the film. I loved the idea of these little men looking after Snow White and her getting her prince in the end.

Alybob Sun 06-Oct-19 15:30:09

The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton was always my favourite as a child and when i met my now husband he too said he loved that book.
