I'd love to take mine to the part of Germany I grew up in, treat them to Bratwurst and Berliners, forests, shutzenfests and castles.

I would like to take them back to the 50s to my childhood. They might be astonished at the lack of technology but I think they would envy my freedom to play outside unrestrained.

To Worcestershire, where I grew up. I'd take them to all the places that were special to me, and to my mum - Evesham by the river, The Sling, Dodderhill Common, the canal at Stoke Prior, Broadway Tower. We'd eat asparagus and victoria plums.

I know it sounds tacky like the song but I would love to take them all into my arms and love them!
Individually of course, as my arms aren't that long grin
Seriously though - the thought of giving each one of them a lovely, warm Grandma-cuddle and having a chat with no mobile phones shock, no i-pods shock, no tablets shock, no technology at all = BLISS!!!!

I would take them to South Africa and go on safari to see all the wonderful animals.

I would take them to visit their great uncle and aunt in Victoria Island Canada. We’d watch the humpback whales and sea eagles from the deck of their house and go whale watching by boat too. Perhaps being lucky enough to see grizzly bears on the shore? Magical!

I would take them to the Hotel Alpenpark in Seefeld Austria . This hotel is really geared up for children and there are so many lovely walks to be enjoyed as well .

To Benodet in Brittany. A new language and culture to experience with very friendly locals in a stunning setting where they would have a lovely beach with a safe bay to swim in. Within walking distance they would be able to enjoy a saltmarsh habitat and go fishing or exploring nearby rockpools. The older ones would also enjoy the Odet river estuary and Marina and join one of the sailing schools. Our bit of paradise we have returned to many times and a Heaven on Earth for children of all ages.

With 5 grandchildren of differing ages and with differing likes and dislikes - would like to take them camping in France where I took their parents when they were young. We had such wonderful times. I used to send them out to walk round the campsite to see what was being cooked elsewhere. Our love of barbecued sardines was fostered there. Everything seemed so full of flavour and fresh. They would only be allowed to use cellphones for an hour a day (in my dreams!) and we would explore and enjoy the simple life!

mattsie Sun 06-Oct-19 12:44:13

Very simple: Southwold, the most magical place on earth

lizd31 Sun 06-Oct-19 12:22:47

Olivia adores animals of every kind as much as me so I'd take her to South Africa on safari

bobistheboss Sun 06-Oct-19 12:09:27

I think it would be Disneyland Paris to enjoy the magic whilst they are still young

When they are teenagers I would take them to the Normandy beaches so that they can see and understand the incredible task we and The Allies were up against. It is so important that the next generation understand how and why war breaks out to ensure that we continue to live in peace with our neighbours.

sheilads105 Sun 06-Oct-19 12:08:19

I'd take them to my own grandparent's home on Anglesey. All those fabulous beaches and wild hills to explore.

sscrase Sun 06-Oct-19 12:05:51

The Maldives, the most wonderful place in the world and would love to take them there before it gets spoilt or disappears forever.
