I get super bossy and tell him how to do it properly.

Itss fine, there is very little in life that is not better shared with someone special

My wife and i do have different interests but we both take part with each other when they arrive,we have been together 38 years and we still have lots of fun together and you forget you can't do some of the things when you are getting a bit older.

Usually I love it!! It can be annoying at times but on the whole I appreciate being a team on things and him taking an interest in things I'm interested in!

It's great, because we share knowledge with each other. I've learnt lots of things about cars, history & other interests, & my husband has learnt about theology, philosophy, education....

Thats fine. We have our own expertise and interests - we share views and participate when invited or needed.
Its all about understanding and respect.

We don't have yours and mine, after almost 50 years of marriage I go by the old saying, taught to me by my auntie, "what's yours is mine and what's mine is my own".
Seems to work !!!

I'm grateful he's doing all the housework and cooking while I'm ill, but would rather he left the little pruning and weeding jobs to me, as I know what's what. We're used to each other after 50 years, though.

My husband takes over, in the nicest possible way.

Be thankful we have finally found something we can both enjoy

Well, my husband and I have some joint interests - cinema, theatre, restaurants. All those things which are currently on the back burner! I knit, sew, bake and often attend cultural courses nearby and in London. He is not interested in those at all. He does some cooking, but only basic stuff and makes a good beef stew. He loves fruit cakes and asked me to show him how to make them. That failed at the first hurdle when he was unhappy about the oven temperature.

He'd muck it up!

I will sometime share things but not usually as he likes to keep himself and if I am cooking I like to do it all by myself.

OH getting involved used to be a pain in the B but as we’ve aged we do share more and it’s so nice..

Fortunately , mine doesn't decide to do much. When he DOES decide to do the washing up, I get told how to do my part of the job!!!! Been married almost 43 years and brought up two children..... I think I can cope... Glad to do it myself, to be honest.....love him really, just love him more when he isn't telling me how I should do things!!

We share some things and then each has own. He loves cooking and i love the garden but happy to help each other out.

We always end up arguing Haha

My OH would be a great asset if he were to get involved in anything I consider to be mine.

My hubby sometimes puts a wash on for me but puts it on the longest wash possible (3 hours) and then it's not put on the line for most of the day. He also puts our sons lycra running gear in to be ironed bless him. Otherwise he is a wonderful man who cannot do enough for me

We pretty much do everything together, even more so since he retired due to ill health two years ago.
I still work 25 hours a week, but when we go out or do anything hobby wise,we are usually together,with a few exceptions, I go to the bingo once a month without him, and he goes to the gym , ( pre-covid ) an hour a week on his own.
It works well for us.
