My lovely Granddaughter is 13 now so I don't read to her any more, but when she was little she loved Hairy McClary from Donaldson's Dairy. Such a funny little book, such fun to read and she loved it.

A great favourite is Nanette the Hungry Pelican, an old book that I had when I was a child, but it's rhyming story is clever and interesting with humour that children seem to really enjoy because it is sometimes a little cheeky...

We're going on a bear hunt is a great one as you get them into making the noises as you splash through water and mud , then speed it up as you dash back home!

I like reading The Smartest Giant in Town to my twin grandsons aged 2, because they like joining in. They love so many books, so it is really hard to choose and know which are going to catch a child's imagination.
