My grandchildren love Shark in the Park, they love the familiarity of the rhyme and anticipating the end of the sentences. It is a joy to read to them

The 'Oi Dog' series has been a huge success with all my grandchildren.
They belly laugh at the nonsense of these books - and so do I!

The Tiger who came to Tea was a favourite with my children, and now my grandchildren.

The lord of the rings as it's so well written.

I love reading Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson. The children love the part when the monkey says NO! NO! NO!

Mine are still tiny so Little Rabbit FooFoo is a great favourite - we can all recite it by heart.

Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot - a real insider's knowledge of our furry friends!!!

My little grandson loves me reading The Three Little Pigs. I read it to him and then he makes up his own version with him, his Mum and Dad as the little pigs but he is quite clever as he is the little piggy that has the house with the bricks!

I love to read Spot the Dog books to both of my grandchildren aged one and a half and 3. At the moment we read together over Zoom and I love to watch their faces and reactions as we move from page to page as they know what's coming next.

The Roald Dahl books as I enjoyed them myself when I was younger

fourormore Sat 06-Jun-20 10:06:39

Just seen that Travellingran is reading the old ones too! Lovely to be able to skype them!
Mine are original books that my son (now father of the twins) used to read! I've never even considered chucking away these books and they've been read, in turn by all my GC who now range from 22yrs old down to the twins! GGC may yet get to enjoy them but no sign of GGC yet thank goodness grin

fourormore Sat 06-Jun-20 10:02:11

Apologies if someone has already said it is what they are doing but my 4yr old twin GC are ardent Thomas fans.
I read them the original Thomas books and they are fascinated with the 'older' characters!

Pepper Pig - which I orchestrate with sound effects!
He giggles through it and keeps feeding me a fresh supply of Pepper books to continue.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It helps them to discover truth.

ballie Fri 05-Jun-20 23:01:14

Slime by David Walliams because they can relate to it and at the same time they find it interesting and funny. I hope it is the content, rather than the way I read it.

Kittyme1 Fri 05-Jun-20 16:55:38

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is their favourite.

hannafore Fri 05-Jun-20 16:26:40

Anne of Green Gables, because Anne is such an endearing character, and gets into lots of scrapes.
