Best way to get repeat prescription

Just phoned the pharmacy who would be able to send a request over to my surgery for me and get the medication dispensed for a driver to deliver to me. [No one to collect things for me at the moment].

However things are changing by the day. If things go exclusively online then that will become a problem [for me].

I have to get my husband's medicine every 3 weeks. That's the limit he's allowed.

You bluebirdwsm don't say why you don 't like online service. I've used it since it started with no worries and nothing adverse has ever happened. Give it a go.

I rang our doctors this morning to see about collecting his next lot. They now have someone on the door to meet patients or those who need a collection.

Give it a try bluebirdwsm You will need a code from the doctors to set it up, They could probably send it by email.

I have used on line service with my Doctors for a while now with no problems at all.
I go to my page and click the medicines I need and there is a box I can request other items which I do not have on repeat all delivered by my friendly man at our local chemist.

Same as WOODMOUSE - I was advised to go to surgery, where one of the receptionists met a little straggly line of patients waiting to hand over prescriptions. The Pharmacy said it may a day or two later to collect (3-4 days) as GP's are so busy.

I sympathise, bluebirdswim. Like you, I go into the health centre and give them my last prescription.
I don't even have an online page. I think I had a letter from them ages ago telling me how to do it but couldn't understand it.
I suppose Im going to have to ring them up, wait for their message reply (which I can't always hear) and ask them to send me another letter. And then ask for help to set it up.
Luckily I've got nearly 2 months' supply less a wek or 2.

My surgery sends the prescription to a nominated pharmacy and the pharmacy deliver to my home. Although I swapped to pharmacy2u several months ago.

I use the on line service and it is then sent to the pharmacy. I have had a couple of problems with things requested not being included in the list sent the pharmacy.
I usually have 2 mths supply but I've read they will only be dispensing 1 mth at a time now.

Our chemists are always full with people trying to find undelivered medication, making their 5 or 6th visit to try and resolve issues.

Its quite usual to see people reduced to tears.

Online just seems to leave more loopholes in the system.
