People on here are already toasting their newspapers and leaving deliveries outside in an effort to kill the virus.

Would they really eat food from a takeaway?

I'd say carry on cooking and do take-aways ? I'm sure it would be a Godsend to many, especially families now that the children are off school.

The pub that a helicopter crashed into a few years back has offered use of their "banks of fridges and freezers" to foodbanks who may get offered restaurant food donated ,or to people who have overdone the panic buying and would like to pass it on to people in need .Maybe others will follow suit, its good rto see the communities rise to the challenge .

My son and his partner run a country pub/small hotel. They had upwards of 70 bookings for Mothering Sunday lunch. They are still making lunch, as a takeaway service. They ask that you provide dishes and plates to carry your food home in. They are serving between 11am and 4 pm staggering the times to prevent too much contact. After that I don't k ow what they are doing, it's all up in the air!
I feel so sorry for them as they have just celebrated their first anniversary, they took over the business just over a year ago, and were doing really well.

Local restaurants are providing carry outs.

I am hoping all the restaurants which have had to close will not just throw away any food left in the kitchens. I imagine it would take a lot of organising to give it away but hope it isn't all going to waste.
