but at least he is prepared to name some of the current behaviour for what it is - "stupid".

So why do we have so many stupid people in society? Do they believe they are invincible, or above the general rule, or that this isn't real? Or is it because we have allowed a culture of "not only am I entitled to my opinion but I am entitled to treat my opinion as a fact"?

No idea personally, but I wish they would stop it.

I was just talking to my son and he repeated a conversation of someone we both know who seems to think the government's reactions are overblown. He is only looking at the actual deaths - in Australia that was seven at the point of the conversation. He is as well educated and intelligent as many of us and not storming shops or leaving home unnecessarily (he's over 70) but how do some of us end up looking at this as if the experts don't know what they are doing?
