Will you be wearing a mask?

I will be wearing one. Nearly every other country is saying to wear one and they are all doing better than this country. UK has an appalling record all through this pandemic and if masks dont protect people why are they worn in hospitals?

Yes I definitely will. I will feel more protected against breathing in viruses.

When we shop, we wear gloves and masks: my DH is a dentist and so has been able to teach me the correct way to use, and very importantly how to remove without undoing all possible good! Masks protect others, rather than yourself, so equally others protect you by wearing them.

I don’t buy that gives you a false sense of security line. Surely you must have a false sense of security by not wearing one if you have the chance. Wearing a mask makes you more aware of the dangers and to keep away from others and not touch your face, especially if you also wear gloves. You need one with a nose wire to stop the glasses steaming up.

grannysyb, I am the same, wearing a mask is a pain as no matter how close a fit, my glasses always steam up. I let OH do the shopping so haven't had to wear one yet. As others have said they won’t be made mandatory as even the NHS can’t get hold of enough.

I wear an N95 /N99 mask ? and my husband too. Plus disposable gloves. I started wearing it February. I got very ill in January and was very blessed to get over it but don’t want another dose of anything !!! I think I will wear masks every winter. Maybe try to find one a bit prettier!

Yes I wear mine all the time I made them myself and am now making them for my wider family.

Once a mask gets damp it does nothing so no point in it being there. No I won't wear one unless it is mandatory. The science behind them is not good. The World Health Organization has yet to say they help.

Yes, I would if necessary. I don't want Covid, I have no wish to cause anyone else to have it. Simple!

We are wearing them to open door if delivery taking kids at back of garden to ride bikes and defo when we go out not anytime soon I have also got some a friend made for the children I have put filters inside .

Probably not- I have heard from several 'experts ' on TV & radio that they protect others from your germs more than you against theirs. I do have some as DH uses them when he is enamelling but unless they really push that we should wear them I doubt I will. I also get very bad hayfever & would be forever pulling it off to blow my nose.

I have a different problem with masks, I am deaf and therefore cannot lipread anyone wearing one, makes me feel even more isolated,

I bought some a while ago and sent them on to a friend in a badly affected area but they never arrived - wonder who got those?

i haven't worn a mask since the virus started .i do have some that i got from my charity shop. but i find i cant wear them with my glasses because they steam up. so i havent bothered. it does say that masks are only for people that have symptoms of the virus.its more of dirty surfaces....can you see our government giving them free of charge?

Can't get masks for love nor money. When hospital staff and carers can't get them, then I don't think we have much chance of obtaining any. ?

I lived in Hong Kong for three years after their SARS epidemic. It was commonplace to wear a mask, but it was to protect others from the wearer, not the wearer from infection. However, only Asians ever wore them. I never saw a Westerner wear one. Nowadays, though, my fb feed is full of pics Western friends in Hong Kong wearing all sorts of masks, some home made, some hospital style and some workshop dust masks. Not sure if they will help tbh.

I've had ads on Facebooks for masks that feature that old Rolling Stones logo, you know - the one with the tongue. It looks seriously weird so I might get some. If nothing else, it'll amuse the grandchildren, should we be allowed to see them at some time in the not-so-distant (we hope) future!

I would actually like to know where to buy decent ones. Most of the ones on Amazon look very flimsy and are very expensive. Someone is obviously cashing in. My DIL has had some sent over from a friend Hong Kong where she used to live. I’ll have to beg her for some.

I have been wearing one for weeks. You can get them on various site, cloth, disposable and scarf types. My feeling is they will back track and make the wearing of them mandatory. You can get them on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, groupon and Zillily.

Yes I plan to. Anything to stop breathing in any virus must help surely.
