Hope this won't be like Zika

BlueBelle I don’t see this as a “worry”. It is a concern though. I remember the wave of Zika babies, some born a long time after the virus, to women whose partners had been in the Zika areas.

It’s simply another area of this virus that we are learning about. It would certainly make me wary though if I was a young woman hoping to conceive in the near future.

I posted it here as I would have thought those of us with “expanding families” might be interested in it. I would want my daughters and daughters-in-law to know, for example.

I saw that also Not Spaghetti just when we think things are easing and an antibody test is about to be approved.

This virus is not going anywhere, it is really scary that it has been found in semen!!!

Just read that Covid-19, like Ebola and Zika has been found to survive in semen. It was only a small study (found in 6 of 38 recovered men), but now they are trying to see if it can be spread that way to newborns/partners.

I really hope we aren't destined for a wave of babies born with some terrible legacy of this condition. It really didn't occur to me until just now that this may be possible.
