Thank you Jishere. I am very proud of my son. I wish I had done more though but he was adamant I shouldn’t put myself and my vulnerable husband at risk.

Grandad, Starmer has the same mindset as a Conservative in that a murder case that I'm following he had the same input as Priti Patell, John Whittingdale, Douglas Herd, Michael Howard. All concerned and without knowing the full circumstances of the crime/ case in question said that the defendant was guilty.

When he was with the CPS he spent half his time in office under the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition where he defended the Human Rights Act against Conservative proposals to repeal it.

Starmer was criticised by the CPS for his part in the Ian Tomlinson case during protests in 2009. This was something I felt very strongly about at the time and Starmer had said he wasn't going to prosecute the officer who knocked Tomlinson to the ground and went ahead citing the state appointed pathologist who was a shyster who'd given the death of Tomlinson as natural causes.

Again, the pathologist, Patel, wasn't prosecuted when it was later found that Tomlinson had been unlawfully killed.
The DPP and CPS are notorious for protecting " their own " and Starmer was no exception in this case. Harwood, the officer responsible for Tomlinson's death was later prosecuted and sent to prison on a manslaughter charge.

What is Starmer suppose to do ? Storm the BBC studios and leap in front of the cameras ?

I do not condone nor excuse the behaviour of the so called 'journalists' who have doorstepped Dominic Cummings. I think their behaviour is reprehensible, particularly as they themselves are ignoring social distancing rules.

However, we should not lose sight of the fact that Mary Wakefield is herself a journalist who has written for The Sun, Daily Mail, The Telegraph and The Times. In writing an article (for the Spectator), which has given exposure to either her own or her husband's lies, she has opened the door to the line of journalistic questioning that many people have taken exception to. As they give conflicting accounts of their move to Durham they can't both be telling the truth.

That there has been a deliberate attempt to hide the fact that DC and his wife decamped to Durham cannot be disputed. Newspapers on 30th March (when DC was already in Durham) all carried the story that: Dominic Cummings is self-isolating at home after showing symptoms of coronavirus, Downing Street has confirmed. The prime minister’s top adviser is understood to have fallen ill over the weekend and remains at home, while staying in contact with the Downing Street team during the quarantine period.

I’m without sin too Misadventure. Strangely enough my own son was ill with coronavirus (diagnosed by the 111 service from his symptoms). He is a single parent, and was caring for his own 4 year old at the time. He was very breathless, and afraid that he might pass out and be unable to summon help in an emergency. The 111 advice was that he should stay at home, and if his breathlessness got worse, phone 999.

It was a terrible time. My instincts were to go and look after them both but I stayed at home, because that was the guidance. I took some shopping; I saw them both through the window. That broke my heart, to see them so alone and vulnerable. They live 25 miles by away from me. I felt guilty for driving so far, but there was no one else to do it. I now realise that 1) I must not love my son and grandchild as much as Dominic Cummings loves his child; 2) my parental instincts are clearly not as strong as his and 3) I have been a bloody fool.

Thank God they are now well, my grandchildren never developed symptoms. Many people have not been so lucky during this terrible time and more will die. I am beyond angry.

Galaxy, the general public have had all their attention totally focused on all that is happening inside the Tory Party over the last few days, and not on the Labour party due most certainly to the inaction and inadequacies of Kier Starmer.

I see the Boo for Boris has been much more widespread than people thought. I dont necessarily think it's the most effective form of protest but this kind of thing sometimes develops momentum.

If the above is in regard to Starmer being "invisible" throughout this present government credibility crisis, then no one can doubt surely that very much has been the case.

I feel he may show up tomorrow being all the criticism he is now receiving from many within the Labour movement.

I agree, Calli. Watching DC's statement yesterday and BJ's subsequent backing of the nonsense he spouted, I felt ashamed of the Tory party I normally support.

It felt like we're in the hands of a corrupt dictatorship and that's even more scary than coronavirus itself.

Galaxy, I am certainly not disappointed in the appointment of David Evans as Geneal Secretary of the Labour movement. With the withdrawal of both the leading trade union candidates from the ballot Evans was, without doubt, the best choice. Evans at one time a firm supporter of Tony Blair stood down as the Deputy General Secretary of the movement when, it is said, he disagreed with Blair leading the Parliamentary Labour Party away from its traditional core principles.

However, I believe in regard to the way Starmer has performed (or rather not performed) throughout this present government credibility crisis he is on course in the eyes of many to be the worst leader the Parliamentary Labour Party has ever had.

My own thoughts, for what they are worth, is that Starmer has always looked as if he would be more comfortable on the Tory benches and perhaps that is why he is giving Johnson such an easy time in this crisis?
