I think people in the North West are very fed up. I now can't visit my daughter and grandchildren as they live in the Manchester area.

I also can go out for a meal but can’t have a friend for coffee in the garden.
When you read the cans and can’ts it is ludicrous.

Is it any wonder people get confused?

It can seem ludicrous but it is based on people's behaviour.

What has emerged is that most new cases involve visits with family and friends because people "forget" to maintain a safe distance.

If that's where the danger is thats what has to be targeted I'm afraid.

It’s far easier to forget social distancing with friends and family, especially children in your own home or garden.

Honestly it has reached the point where you have to do what feels safe for you apart from the obvious things like mask wearing

Yes, it can if you are registered under Part 3 of the Childcare Act.

Presumably, you are part of your daughter's "bubble".

The new lockdown rules do seem harsh, I admit, and there will always be some anomalies but without doubt infection rates are rising in our area and this has to be brought down, for everyone's sake. I have just read a report in the Manchester Evening News from the police who said that last weekend the majority of complaints they received were about street parties, large groups in houses and gardens, and house parties so I guess this is the reason behind the new rules. And of course last weekend these were only guidelines but now that legislation has been passed, they are mandatory.
