Did anyone listen to this this morning? Well worth it- she’s an excellent communicator and I found the programme pulled together the various bits of knowledge and information I’d gathered and made my understanding into a more coherent whole. I also think for anyone worried about the pace of development it provided the context for that. She’s quite remarkable

That was an excellent programme, I particularly liked how she explained how they had managed to move so quickly because of what they had learnt from other vaccines and that they started thinking about manufacture and distribution early in the process.

Now, how do we get people to listen to this instead of the conspiracy theories? grin

I have heard Sarah Gilbert speak a few times and I have great faith in her. She can explain everything so clearly that even the non scientists like myself can understand without the waffle and indecision that we get from so many “experts”. I have also read that she gets up at 4am to get to work, doesn’t leave till 8pm and has had one day’s holiday this year. How many of how so called government can say this. My worry is that when a vaccine is available we shall have to endure the same fiasco that we have had with Covid testing, PPE organisation and the non existent Test and Trace. It will be a tragedy if all the hard work put in by the vaccine team is wasted by the likes of Matt Hancock and his equally useless colleagues.

Curlygirl but she fails on work-life balance!

Will sign up for these podcasts, they sound interesting.

One of my favourite programmes. This one was so good because it addressed all the issues around the COVID vaccination and discussed it in an intelligent and balanced manner.

Wouldn't it be nice if some of BJ's scientific bodyguards had the same competences and communication skills?

Jim Al-Khalili does a magnificent job week after week on a huge range of scientific issues. Whatever the topic, I always find myself engrossed and enthused and admiring of the scientists interviewed. A decision was made I believe quite a while ago to make sure female scientists were better represented and that has revealed some particularly interesting back stories.
