My eyes prickled today

DH went to pick up the dgc from school today. He told me that at the (obvs CoVID safe) pick up point he had been able to chat with another parent who we get on very well with and are very fond of (both her and her husband). We hadn’t seen them since March but had exchanged texts regularly. Whilst he was relaying their news, I suddenly realised my eyes were very prickly and I had a little cry for the everyday little joys of life that still seem so far away.
