I disagree. Im Californian. Libs look at that as grandstanding I suppose. 63Million Americans voted for him. How many of us would decline a ride with our covid19 infected boss? I would! The ride was sad on many levels, many families couldnt be with their loved ones as they passed away, because they had to be isolated, and this jerk took a joy ride.

On holiday 2 years ago, we sat at dinner with an older couple who had voted for Trump. We chatted about politics for a while and I realised the lady didn't understand the difference between America's left and right and ours. To keep it simple, I said that as far I could see it, from right to left it ran like this: Republicans, Conservatives, Democrats, Labour, also mentioning that we had other parties, not just two. She was surprised. I'd like to know what she thinks about Trump now.

I also get the feeling that Socialism is seen as Communism by Republicans, which it isn't. Perhaps that's why they get so het up about the Democrats that they cast as leftist.

So, Americans, please feel free to clarify things for everyone, if you are able.

I have always believed that the American President is open to criticism from the rest of the world, unlike other leaders. The USA is allegedly the leader of the western world and as such has a huge influence on the rest of us. POTUS in my lifetime have generally behaved reasonably well. Some led us into war, others couldn’t get Princess Diana’s name correct. But all of them had a degree of dignity, diplomacy and decorum. trump doesn’t display any of this and his actions are leading the world into mayhem. So yes, we can criticise him.

I can’t get over that silly comment he made, “I get it. I understand it.” after a couple of days in hospital.
