Did this really happen or have I fallen down the rabbit hole?

maddyone Mon 05-Oct-20 11:30:23

I have only one word: UNBELIEVABLE!

Unfortunately it’s true.

The people in the hermetically sealed car with him - even though they wearing PPE ?Let’s just say it - the world wound be s better place without this truly evil man.

That is a despicable thing to say about anyone....no matter how stupid you say they are. Disgusting.

Who in their right mind, when suffering from an infectious illness such as Covid would be leaving their house anyway ? Even to the point of doing an apparently heavily edited press conference?
Sorry, but we can quite honestly do without seeing him for several days. At least Johnson kept himself to himself and allowed other people to stand in for him - even though one was not where he originally said he was, so didn't actually appear!

Theoddbird Mon 05-Oct-20 11:14:11

I worry about those at the White House the other day...crowds in the garden and then all of them inside....not one wearing a mask and no social distancing. Goodness knows how many have now got the virus...

Everything CarlyD7 said. Personally I think of him as little short of criminal.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 05-Oct-20 11:12:47

I'm not convinced he has had it - it's a ploy for the sympathy vote. If perchance I am wrong, I hope he recovers and finds humility!!

OH FFS Urmston sad

X a zillion

Urmstongran Mon 05-Oct-20 11:09:39

He's not treating POTUS he is one of probably 50 attending physicians at Walter Reed. Do you actually believe that the POTUS has not had Secret Service protection at Walter Reed? That for the last 3 days the POTUS has only had them standing out in the hallway while unknown numbers of medical personnel have gone in and out of the room? Really?

I would be surprised if there hasn't been SS taking shifts and staying in his his room with him 24/7. This rant is absolutely ridiculous.

White House spokesman Judd Deere said the drive had been “cleared by the medical team as safe” and that “appropriate precautions were taken in the execution of this movement to protect the president and all those supporting it, including PPE.”

Never believe anything coming out of the WH!! The doctors in fact said the total opposite

MaizieD Mon 05-Oct-20 11:08:22

Because White House spokespeople never lie...

JenniferEccles Mon 05-Oct-20 11:07:53

I don’t know why he felt the need to pull this drive past stunt.
The video a couple of days ago showed him up and dressed and apparently recovering well.

The tone of the video was quite restrained by his standards (he was almost ‘umble !) and that broadcast showed the world that he wasn’t lying in bed attached to drips.

He should have left it at that especially as the doctors said he may even be discharged today.

He always has to go one step further doesn’t he ?

Whitewavemark2 Mon 05-Oct-20 11:07:32

To be fair to ug she is a supporter of this world view, so supports Trump, Farage and of course Brexit. It is a nationalistic, populist world view.

Was it him, thinking Monty's double!

lulu - that's a thought! I'd put nothing past him.

Why do we hear nothing about poor old FLOTUS? I wonder how she is getting on. Poor woman. I reckon she'll be off straight after the election - unless he wins, of course, then she'll be trapped for another 4 years.hmm

Perhaps it was Melania who arranged for his hospitalisation - to give her a break!
Peace at last

How do you excuse his going to the fundraiser on Thursday Urm when he knew Hicks had tested positive? Maybe you think raising money for the Republicans was worth all the people he put at risk? Do tell

Greendress Mon 05-Oct-20 11:03:15

The 'brave' President catching CV then beating it in record time does take take folks minds off the tax evasion issues and his other appalling failures.

suziewoozie Mon 05-Oct-20 11:00:42

Utterly astonishing how Urm. ‘s post seems to demonstrate a complete willingness to excuse this evil man.

CarlyD7 Mon 05-Oct-20 10:55:40

He lives in an alternate reality and thinks everyone-else does too. Successful businessman? No, lost all the money he inherited and bankrupt 4 times (latterly bailed out by Russian banks). Clever academically? No, brother (reportedly) bribed the admissions adviser to get him into Wharton College (one of his ex-professors said that he was the stupidest student he'd ever met). Macho? No, he avoided the draft (bone spurs??), has never got into sports, doesn't exercise and is clinically obese. Is going to make America great again? No, he's made America a laughing stock. The drive-by was his attempt to shore up his fantasy image of himself as a beloved president, and to hell with anyone-else's health. Idiot doesn't even cover it.

The secret service brought him to the hospital. I am sure Trump isn't going to be walking home. The same people will drive him home tomorrow.

Besides he’s wearing a mask and there is glass separating Trump from others (like in a taxicab).

Oh ug do you have no understanding at all?

I think what must be remembered that those whose world view like Trump’s populism have no conception of helping others, and your own needs must prevail at all times.

You see it everywhere where this sort of ideology is evident.
