lemon Nothing to do with you - the OP wants advice not judgement. You’ve no idea what the backstory so maybe back off?

Me again - it starts next week with the new tier system. Each part of this bubble cannot bubble with another household under this rule.

A 3 week old baby? Mother going to leave the baby with you for ‘childcare’ !

Yes I’ve found it - a new rule is coming in. If a couple have a child under 1 ( but it has to be their only child) they can ( not sure from when - next week?) form a support bubble with another household - in this case you and your dh. In this case you would count as one household and see each other when you want without their being a need for child care

It’s meant to be childcare so they can work plus what Sarnia said. There’s something else the back of my mind about babies as well - I’ll see if I can find it

Sarnia Fri 27-Nov-20 15:03:44

As I understand it, grandparents can provide childcare for their grandchildren either in your home or theirs. If it involved travelling between different tiers it may be different, but that doesn't appear to be the case with you. Enjoy your new grandchild.

My daughter and her partner are new parents and have a 3 week old baby. With the current restrictions in place are they allowed to drop the baby off to us for childcare and is it ok if both grandparents are in the house or do we have to go to them and again, can we go at the same time of just one of us? We are all live in the same area and are in the same tier.
I can’t seem to find any answers on the internet and the guidelines don’t seem to stipulate from what I have read.
