My daughters best friend had the first dose of the Covid vaccine yesterday, she is a nurse at our local NHS super hospital, they are aiming to vaccinate 2,000 staff per day, they have set up a central hub for the vaccination of all health service staff who need one.

She says that she feels Ok after it, and is now awaiting her second injection later next week.

Congratulations Bellanonna ?
I am pleased to read that your husband has also received his vaccination.
I wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he will be able to join you at home very soon.

Enjoy you hugs?

Had the phone call today DH and I (we are in west Suffolk) go for vaccination next Wednesday 16th. And then again for the second vaccination on 6th January. Both very pleased (and relieved)

Whop, whoop Bellanonna a GN pioneer ??

Bellanonna Fri 11-Dec-20 17:46:31

Jane, actually that’s the lovely lady who lives in Malta. My name’s slightly different

I went to Guys at 11. Very well organised. We were given a coffee afterwards and told to wait for 20 minutes just in case of adverse reaction. I was so excited to be getting a train for the first time in months. I walked to the station (just under half hour each way) and am delighted that I clocked up
10,000 steps on my Fitbit. I feel fine and privileged too. Poor DH is in hospital with third dose of sepsis this year, and received his vaccine in there. Apparently I shall be “safe” after mid January but I will still practise all the safety measures
We’ve been told to do. I will, however, hug my little grandchildren ?

Suki70, I can’t wait!

Oh that's excellent! Good on Bellasnana. How is she feeling?

My Mum and Aunt both have appointments next week, both are well over 80.
Looks like it all happening ! Fantastic!

Oh Charleygirl, such a lovely lady. I'm so pleased to hear that! I wondered if it was her.

Charleygirl5 Fri 11-Dec-20 15:20:25

My friend has just emailed saying she does not mind if I mention her name as she is having a rest having had a busy day. It is Bellanonna. I doubt if she has beaten royalty but they are a lot older than she is.

Parsley3 Fri 11-Dec-20 14:10:39

elegran You could be right.

Lucca Fri 11-Dec-20 14:09:50

Parsley3 I daresay we will hear all about it when the royals are vaccinated, but if they do it too soon there will be an outcry about privilege. Maybe they have had the jab but are waiting a while before announcing it?

I don’t think there’s be an outcry given they are both in their nineties ! I did read that the plan was to vaccinate them and for them to let it be known in order to try to persuade the thousands of people currently not wanting the jab, ( of whom I despair)

Charleygirl5 Fri 11-Dec-20 14:07:03

Whitewave I have emailed her because I doubt if she realises she is now a celebrity. I am not sure of the timing- she may well still be travelling.

Dr Trebing a chiropractor, not dealing with infections, but also he claims to have a miracle cure for low back pain which medics and doctors don't want us know because it will stop them making a fortune out of us by prescribing drugs and surgery which they know will just make it worse.

I don't think I am interested in the anti-germ theory of someone whose main marketing point is to rubbish all other medics. Or any other theories of his.

A friend of mine, also a GN, is going this am for her first vaccination. She was 80 this year. Her husband, hospitalised, had his a couple of days ago.

It appears she is the first GN. I will inform her when she returns.

Tell her to come on so we can all congratulate and celebrate with her?????
