I wonder if any of the elderly Royals have been vaccinated.

Dr William P. Trebing He's a chiropractor so you'd rather listen to his thr0eories rather than established scientific research by experienced reputable and highly qualified scientists, immunologists and virologists?

Is it just the covid vaccines you object to Mimi22 or vaccinations in general?

A friend of mine, also a GN, is going this am for her first vaccination. She was 80 this year. Her husband, hospitalised, had his a couple of days ago.

It appears she is the first GN. I will inform her when she returns.

That’s good to hear

Looking at one side of the coin, it's all that will be seen. 'Good-bye Germ Theory' by Dr William P. Trebing makes some interesting reading for anyone wanting a look at the flip side. If you are not interested, that's cool. I like to go for a balance when forming my opinions and I can see that plenty of people find that too uncomfortable to entertain. Again, I have nothing to defend so will not subject myself to attack. Peace to you all.

One of my aunts used to make gin sorbet.

It shouldn't be rocket science, Ellianne
We already have rum and raisin icecream although I doubt if it's ever seen a tot of Pusser's best!

I meant the over sixty fives.

etheltbags1 Thu 10-Dec-20 20:27:37

Ellianne

I was entirely wrong in my assumption! ??. Just shows doesn’t it?

Maybe WWM2, but I'm still working on the idea for alcohol flavoured yoghurt.
You can take a cut when I get it patented!
(I find Science baffling.)

Oh yum! Chocolate and rum. Brandy and raspberry. Cointreau and clementine, apples and calvados.

Just some ideas?

Seems your odds-on favourite in this race cathysmum‼️

I've got an appointment for next Wednesday??I am really happy about it, I've had lots of vaccinations before because of my past Military medical service, some have produced some minor side effects but I would rather have the side effects than the illnesses they prevent!! We are very lucky to have this opportunity, the citizens of some other less well off countries are going to have to just live with the virus for a long time and suffer the mortality and the long term health effects that can arise,an added burden to some who already suffer very difficult living circumstances.

I think the reason the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine has to be kept so cold is because mRNA is damaged at higher temperatures - nothing to do with contamination. Maybe your DD knows about that too Whitewave.

The AZ/Oxford vaccine uses different technology and doesn't need to be kept so cold.

Clever, (complicated), techniques! Thanks.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 10-Dec-20 17:26:32

Reply from DD

“There are a number of sterilisation techniques. I don’t know what Pfizer use specifically. They can use irradiation, filtration or autoclaving (pressure and heat). Whichever technique or combination of techniques they use will be validated to ensure the product is sterile at the point of administration.

If, in the extremely unlike situation at a bacterium gets through, most people can tolerate a very low level of bacteria entering the blood stream. There are white blood cells that deal with this.”

The reason you can't keep opening the dry ice containers is that dry ice sublimates in air quite quickly and converts back to its gaseous form, so the temperature in the containers rises, which presumably spoils the vaccine.

Dry ice is nothing to worry about and is commonly used to keep food cool and fresh in transport.

The yoghurt analogy doesn't work if you keep on taking it out of the fridge and bringing it up to room temperature because bacteria will reproduce to an unacceptable level. JVT was making the point that the vaccine can't be taken out of its container and then put back, not because of bacteria or fungi.

Alegrias2 Thu 10-Dec-20 16:08:44

I'm not sure what that means WWM but there are smiley faces so I think its good! ???

Whitewavemark2 Thu 10-Dec-20 16:05:05

Well slap your hand alegrais????

Whitewavemark2 Thu 10-Dec-20 16:03:25

Actually thinking about what she has said in the past -although she may say different - I do know that drugs are produced in ultra clean environments, and they are audited for this on a very regular basis.

If any bacteria gets into a production, the whole thing is trashed ultra cleaned and started again.

That’s very simplistic, but hopefully DD will reply with proper information.

Alegrias2 Thu 10-Dec-20 15:54:53

I'm not holding fire. I'll get it tomorrow if they phone me. Or even tonight, actually.

I'm just interested and happy to find stuff out from somebody who knows more than me. confused
