Caring for grandchildren who attend different childcare settings

I’m in the same situation, the new rules say “informal childcare” only if absolutely essential. So I think it’s down to whether you feel you are putting yourself at risk by looking after them. It’s a hard decision to make ? we want to help out and also have contact with our grandchildren but we also want to be around for many more years to see them grow up

In what way?

Are you both at risk? Underlying health conditions? Shielding?

What tier are you in?

In theory you are allowed to care for GCs, but should you? Only you can answer that one.

My wife and I look after our two grandchildren one day a week, while on the other days they either attend a nursery school or, in the case of the 18 month old he goes to another child carer (professional) and also something called Muddy Boots for a day where he mixes with other children. Is it still ok for us to care for them?
