At least the government are visible, whether we like or agree with the messages or not, in other countries they’re silent. Damned if they do etc.

Which countries? I've watched quite a few briefings from leaders in other countries. Just curious.

It doesn't really matter what they said. It's whether they have any authority, so that people who might be inclined to break the rules will listen.

LauraNorder Thu 21-Jan-21 19:42:06

I thought it was a good briefing. Priti Patel pushed the fact that the police have the powers to fine rule breakers. All three stressed the point that rule breakers are endangering others.
I too wish she would pronounce the g at the end of the words but still thought it was a good clear briefing.

rosie1959 Thu 21-Jan-21 18:28:12

It was around 40 mins

MissAdventure Thu 21-Jan-21 18:00:34

It must have been very brief.
I can't find it.

rosie1959 Thu 21-Jan-21 18:00:06

It was on Sky and the BBC news channel not regular BBC1
My I pad also flash’s it up from Sky news and the Government Facebook pagev

Peasblossom Thu 21-Jan-21 17:46:09

H, was the programme listing wrong then. It was the Bidding Room when I put it on and then it said Pointless after. Nothing about a briefing.

Oh well. I expect it’ll be on the News. Anything interesting?

EllanVannin

A fire in India, the city of Pune, has destroyed their Serum Institute which manufactures AstraZeneca vaccine, 5 people were also killed when a few floors of the building were destroyed. Production of Covishield vaccine will continue.

Didn't they like our vaccine ?

That's tragic and very worrying too.

Did they produce other drugs as well?
Many of our drugs are produced in India now.

When is the next Covid announcement?
Priti Patel will deliver the next briefing at 5.00pm on Thursday 21 January, with the conferences continuing in their traditional early evening slot.

The Home Secretary will be joined by Martin Hewitt, chairman of the National Police Chiefs’ Council, and Dr Vin Diwakar, NHS England regional medical director for London.

You’ll be able to watch the action live from Downing Street via a stream on this page, or on BBC News and Sky News

It's only on the news channels I think. We're watching.

growstuff Thu 21-Jan-21 17:08:34

Casdon

I switch over to BBC2 and watch Pointless instead.

Are you sure you didn't watch the briefing and still watch pointless? hmm

MissAdventure Thu 21-Jan-21 17:02:55

Piers Morgan asked her about the data the other day.

It's somewhere, not lost, but she didn't seem sure where it might be.

Peasblossom Thu 21-Jan-21 17:01:11

Judge Judy then?

MayBee70 Thu 21-Jan-21 16:58:32

Perhaps someone will ask her about the missing security data? And the fact that she wanted the country to lockdown in March.

MissAdventure Thu 21-Jan-21 16:58:13

Looks like I'll be watching pointless, too.
I can't find anything about any briefing on tv.

I must have made it up in my mind! blush
