Our village hall is the designated vaccine centre so it’s a five minutes away.

Must be terribly inconvenient having to travel a few miles to get a life-saving miracle vaccine......

After waiting all this time, too.

I agree, just be grateful that you are getting it and have been able to lead a much more relaxed life than many in the UK.

The use of the word traipse makes it sound like it's a bother for you.sad

And furthermore you’re rolling out the Pfizer vaccine which explains why hospitals.

Well suziewoozie said it all really.......

OP just thank your lucky stars that in a country with such low rates of infection you’re being offered a vaccine at all. Stop moaning

Our local surgery is coordinating vaccinations for 5 local surgeries, the surgery being used is three miles away.

Initially the choice was limited and the vaccine hubs were often few and far between, so that a longish journey was necessary. Gradually more venues have been opened, some by GP surgeries, and the travelling distances have reduced.

The NHS letter we received asking us to book our vaccination only gave one option, in a city 50 minutes drive away without its own car park. We'd already been contacted by the GP by then and invited to a more local centre.

I drove both my daughters 30 miles on separate occasions to get a vaccination at the beginning of the roll out. One NHS and sheilding, the other a care provider.
Now we have 2 big vaccination hubs in our county, some doctors surgeries and pharmacies on board. Really getting on with it now.
I guess distances are much bigger in Australia, so inconvenient for you could seem impossible to us here in UK.
How far would you need to travel?

The local GP surgeries have a combined designated area in my town and you’re eventually given an appointment there. There are also other areas that you can go to if you’re sent a letter inviting you to apply. Those areas are often quite far distant.

Depends where you are. Most people go online and book at the most convenient location on offer, could be a GP or vaccine hub.

The first vaccines were rolled out today in Australia. We have to traipse over to one of the designated hospitals to get it when we are allowed to which is very inconvenient for many of us. Is that what they do in the UK or can you just go to a GP ?
