So much of what you wrote above is true for me too NotS.
The intrusive music, the irritations which pile up, eventually weighing down the spirits.
Most organisations here have their Christmas 'do' in November because by December, right through to February and March, people are away on summer holidays.
Depending on how long they have worked to accrue time off, this can be for several weeks, as with Karen.
In the old days, firms would simply close down. Hence the quip, "I went to NZ but it was closed"
Hard to imagine now.
Summer is officially from 1st December to February 28th but the warm-to-hot weather lasts far longer than that.
Depending on where you live, Labour Day, 28th October generally signals the start of really good weather after heavy rain in September.
Even so, there are few days in the year without some
sunshine
.
As for Easter, not much fuss is made of that.
Eggs are in the shops now but so far, commercial interests have not made Easter into the brouhaha we see at Christmas. Probably because people are still paying off their credit cards
I do hope things brighten for you NotS - and indeed everyone - it is so miserable to drag from day to day with that awful churning of the tummy - and helpless to do anything to change things.
But even that will change - eventually, so chin up Lass and keep smiling when you can.
Grammaretto all I could see was a rather scruffy man wittering on - was I supposed to see nice houses?
Yesterday there was a huge thump on the side of the house, which shook as if someone had just thrown a wet Labrador at it.
It turned out to be a duck which I caught easily despite it yelling blue murder and probably imagining I was going to exile it to Niue.
I've been at my computer since 4am - I am still trying to work on the last chapter of the book with a vague hope someone might be interested in it come 2025.
Might as well put insomnia to good use eh?
