Yes, get well soon Grandpafrench
Grandmafrench. Thank you. I hope that your DH has come through his surgery today and will be home with you very soon,
Stay where you are, please. ALL of you. As Jax says, 'the most delightful company of true friends'. All that just shines through your posts. I was thoroughly shocked to see such a 'sour note' introduced when the complaint was truly both unnecessary and irrelevant. How a jokey throwaway line in conversation about a deliberately-staged and well-known photograph of strangers in aprons can be compared with 'celebrities' who go completely off the rails and insult, degrade, disrespect, tell obscene jokes to and about women on t.v. programmes and over many years, just because they can, I can't fathom. The real joke, of course, is that your Jeeves, I feel sure, would be more of a Mrs Overall 'Two Soups' employee.....a bit frayed around the edges and getting the hot chocolate orders confused - and going AWOL when most needed.
I left Gransnet and only make the occasional comment for the reason that there is always someone ready with a put down or snarky comment and often once they see people having fun. Confront those people and they flounce off into the sunset 'forever', (only to reappear a few days later). I know many others who stopped posting because they dislike being told what and how much to say or when to say it. Grans who dislike being spoken to as if they're 12 years old! There's always an excuse later for these complainers: not feeling so good, feeling sad, having a bad day, it was a misunderstanding, etc., Why can't people just stop their miserable and combative moods from washing over everyone else, and stay away until feeling more sociable? They'd get so much more sympathy and understanding that way.
I wrote that post today because I genuinely think you're all smashing and I get so much out of following the Lobstars' adventures. I know I'm not alone in that view and wanted you all to know that. It was a special distraction today from worries about my DH who was undergoing surgery at that moment.
You never said anything/did anything wrong. Try trawling back through old GN threads and see the sort of comments one should be complaining about. People are always entitled to their opinions, of course, but just to bring down a thread in this way is really wrong....and for what? And apologising because you know it's going to cause upset? That's just spiteful.
Sometimes you make me cry, with all the sadness that comes around to plague you. Sometimes you make me cry with laughter - please don't take that away. Like sunshine, we all need laughter and good-natured banter. Come on, Lobstars, we're all relying on you. 🦀❤️
Thanks for your kind comment about us Jax. 💐
Don't feel bad Naughtyneine, nor you NotSpaghetti. 💐 💐
Naughtyneine - no offence taken.
Please can we just skip on by now. I also feel bad for commenting
🤐
Ixion - please do not go!
🥰
It wasn’t ixion it was that disgraceful Jeeves again, carry on Lobstars you are the most delightful company of true friends.
Big apologies from me. I'm like Doodle I'm afraid I hadn't seen or heard anything about Greg Wallace until I read Rosie's post and then read up on what's been going on. I took it as a very lighthearted post and commented in the same vain. I don't think either Ixion or I set out to offend in any way 😟
What a lovely post GrandmaFrench 💐. Thank you for taking such a warm view of us all. You are truly kind. You've posted on our thread on the odd occasion, come join us, you'd be more than welcome,
I don't really agree with Rosiesmaw completely in what she says. Take the Chippendales or strippers for hen or stag parties. They choose to be a sexualised focus, unlike the people Greg Wallace made inappropriate comments to.
Don't stop posting ixion, I, for one, would miss you - indeed we all would. You are a bona fide lobStar, once a lobStar always a lobStar x
I need all of you my dear friends more than ever now. Please keep posting Ixion.
No Ixion please don’t go anywhere. It was meant lightly. I have no idea who Greg Wallace is nor what the banter is but I do know you and your kindness and caring to all on this thread stand out.
Grandmafrench what a lovely post. That’s so nice. Thank you.
What a shame I have sullied the lovely post from Grandma French.
I shall withdraw myself forthwith.
I do not like this attitude towards men or women.
I wasn't going intending to comment tbh. I am, however in the minority I think. I have never found it fun or entertaining in real life.

Ooh butlers in the buff.. What fun...🤣
I apologise in advance if this introduces a sour note to a lovely group, but given the rightful condemnation of the offensive banter Greg Wallace seemed to find appropriate, should we really be giggling over “butlers in the buff” ?
Sauce for the goose etc?
Still together, Doodle? Of course you are and so you should be. What a totally top-notch, kindly, empathetic, understanding, interesting and totally hilarious group you are. Your conversations are brilliant. In real life, I'd be thrilled to have any one of you as friends. May life bring you enough good stuff, happiness and contentment (to counter some of the dreadful storms you have weathered) and may you hold on to each other (and Jeeves) for another year which must turn out to be loads and loads better than this one. Everything crossed!
Seasons Greetings, keep safe, big hugs from France.
The Christingle service always 'did it' for me😢🕯️
There is something very special about a lit candle in a church Doodle
It always seems to generate a tear.
Ooh butlers in the buff.. What fun...🤣

I'll have a coffee and pastry too please Jeeves, don't worry about a napkin I'll settle for kitchen roll. 😂
Kaimoana - and here’s one you prepared earlier 🤣
Jeeves I’ll have a coffee and a pastry please. Oh, and as we’re doing posh, I’d better have a napkin!
Come in, sit down on the extra long, extra comfy sofas.
Jeeves, our butler is standing by and ill bring you drinks of choice.
Sherry, sweet or dry, Martini, a drop of the hard stuff? Name your poison.
Or just a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea?
You'll see a selection of scrumptious savouries and posh pastries - please help yourself.
Nau mai, haere mai, titiro te kai tino reka i te waipiro hoki.
Korero mai i a Jeeves matou kaimahi, to hiahia
Oooh, bi-lingual - posh !
It began as group support during difficult times and although Covid has faded a little, the friendship has endured and become stronger.
Still here for anyone to join a non-judgemental, caring thread during the often challenging time in life.
We don't have all the answers but in the spirit of Doodle and Cherry who began it all, and with a happy lobster as our mascot, we do offer friendship and often a bit of very cheeky chat.
