When you next feel that making a jigsaw is a waste of time, read this smile to remind yourself that it isn't:

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this is if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare

(or, I would add, make jigsaws, if that's what we enjoy wink)

I'm a great believer in the truth of this poem. Thanks for posting this, I've just copied it and emailed it to my daughter who sometimes finds it difficult to slow down.

Love jigsaws too.

And daydreaming.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

I find this bit from Corinthians very calming and very true.
