Julie (@MsIntervention) tweeted at 3:39pm - 24 Jun 13:

When pictures say more than words: Conference in Saudi Arabia on "women in society". Attendance: men only. twitpic.com/cyybmm

One of the comments says: "I don't know whether to laugh or cry."

sad

I wonder if they let women in to clean the room after the Conference had finished?

Its a sad and cray world. Though albeit a different context I expect there will have been women only debates/ sessions on men's behaviours. Not condoning either though!

Where's the evidence that it's a conference on 'Women in Society'?

Bags Wed 26-Jun-13 09:19:31

In the tweet by @MsIntervention, riverwalk.

Mind you, it's not an actual reference, is it?

Riverwalk Wed 26-Jun-13 09:27:31

The picture could be of any men-only gathering - we have only the tweeter's word for it being a conference about women.

True.

I've asked her for a proper reference.

No reply as yet, but I found this rather hopeful-seeming article.

Very hopeful, because even if they don't manage to obtain work or driving licenses they will ensure that their daughters are well-educated and better-informed. Their sons as well, one would hope. In fact making sure that their sons aren't treated like spoilt little princes is just as important.
