Musical songs

Talented indeed, and a very pretty lady too.

What I listen too depends on my mood. I love Motown and groups (weren't called bands then ) from 70's. I like show tunes, some orchestral stuff but I don't like jazz at least not the Cleo Lane (sp) type.

Yes, mood plays a great part in what I choose to listen to. I like that song very much, and thought that it is something that I would put on to get me moving - ie to get on with the housework!

Lovely song and she sings well.
Reminds me of Klezmer music, which I suppose is based on Russian style tunes and instruments.
I usually listen to something bluesy, or classics (not modern.)

TriciaF I'd never heard of Klezmer music before (I love all the 'incidental' things I discover through Gransnet ) so I had a listen to the Barcelona Gipsy Klezmer Orchestra on youtube and I really liked it. Thanks.

I lived with my grandmother for a time in the 60's and found myself quite taken with a radio programme she used to listen to called 'sing something simple' (anyone else remember that?). I think it may have been broadcast on a Saturday or a Sunday evening and I remember sitting drinking cocoa and singing along to the songs. We also used to watch the Sunday film together, which always seemed to be a musical. I find myself getting slightly nostalgic for songs that are plain 'old fashioned'.
